The LG G6 and Galaxy S8 will not be offered at the same time and will offer quite different technical sheets. However, they will have one big thing in common, the screen size ratios. This year, two Korean manufacturers decided to offer bezel-less smartphones, or at least better optimize them compared to previous years.
LG G6 and Galaxy S8, two very similar bezel-less smartphones
With the Mi Mix, Samsung designed a bezel-less Galaxy S8 without going as far as Xiaomi, even going so far as to remove the traditional physical home button to offer a better screen size ratio. The fingerprint reader must therefore pass on the back, to the right of the photo sensor.
The LG G6, which will be unveiled at MWC 2017 this weekend, will also be betting on design. A design that will favor the screen, as recent leaks suggest. During the weekend, Evleaks posted a picture where the two phones appear to better highlight the similarities between the two.
Aside from the fact that the Galaxy S8 will have a curved display on the front unlike its rival, the two have some similarities, starting with their 18:9 screen-to-aspect ratio where most smartphones have a 16 aspect ratio. :9. Note that the definition would be 2880 x 1440 pixels for LG and 2560 x 1440 pixels for Samsung.
With this photo, Evleaks highlights a rather interesting element. In 2017, manufacturers are turning to bezel-less designs and smartphones that are more similar to each other. Therefore, the main element that makes the Galaxy S8 different will not be its frameless design, but the curved character of its screen. Of course, there are differences between the two from the back, but this is not the first part we observed.
