From wishing birthdays to fulfilling commitments, things can get messy if the other person is on a different continent. It can be difficult to keep track of different time zones and time difference. Fortunately, you can add multiple clocks to your Windows 10 computer. Ah! Did not you know?
So I used to fiddle with Google all the time to find the time difference(s), but things are much easier now. On a Windows computer, you can add multiple clocks for different time zones and regions. This also comes in handy if you run a business with customers or employees spread across different countries.
So how do you add multiple clocks to your Windows? We’ve provided two different seamless methods in the following paragraphs.
Adding Multiple Clocks to the Start Menu
I live somewhere in West Africa and my computer’s clock is configured by default to the West African time zone.
In this tutorial, I will add a new time to my computer’s start menu for a completely different time zone/region (Baltimore – a city in Maryland, USA).
Stage 1: Tap the Windows key and select ‘Alarms & Clock’ from the application list.
Alternatively, you can write alarms enter it in the search box and click on the corresponding result – Alarms and Clock.
Step 2: On the ‘Alarms and Clock’ home page, go to the Clock section.
This will display a map with a geo pin showing your local time, date as well as your current location.
Stage 3: To add a new time for a different region or time zone, tap the plus (+) icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
This will bring up a new search bar just above the map.
Step 4: Enter a location in the search box. It can be the name of a country, a state, or a city.
As you type in the box, the Windows system will display some suggestions.
Step 5: Tap on the region you want from the suggestions that pop up and the relevant clock will be added to the dashboard.
Windows displays the time difference between your default time zone and the newly added time zone. A new pin showing the location of the new clock will also be added to the map.
Step 6: To add the new clock to your computer’s Start Menu, right-click on the clock and select ‘Pin to Start’.
Step 7: A window will open asking you to confirm if you really want to add the new clock to your PC’s Start Menu. Tap Yes to continue.
And that’s it. When you tap the Windows icon on the screen or on your keyboard, you should see a tile showing the newly added clock.
If you’ve added a clock in a completely different time zone, we recommend pinning your primary (read: local) clock to the Start Menu as well. This eliminates the possibility of confusing the newly added time with your local time.
Step 8: Go back to the Clock board to add your primary clock to the Start Menu, local time time and select ‘Pin to Start’.
Step 9: Tap Yes to confirm the action.
You should now see multiple clocks in your PC’s Start Menu. All watches must bear an appropriate label with the relevant place and time. To add more hours, simply repeat steps 1 through 7.
Adding Multiple Clocks to the Taskbar
If you prefer to have multiple clocks for different time zone on your PC’s taskbar, follow and complete the steps below.
Stage 1: Medicine Control Panel Enter it in the Windows search bar and tap on the relevant result.
Step 2: Tap on the ‘Time & Region’ option.
Stage 3: Just below the ‘Date & Time’ section, tap ‘Add time for different time zones’.
This will open a new window on your PC where you can set multiple clocks for different time zones.
Note:
Step 4: Check the ‘Show this time’ box to add the first time.
Step 5: Tap the ‘Choose time zone’ dropdown button and select your preferred time zone from the available options.
Step 6: Give the clock a name or use the default display name (Clock 1).
We recommend renaming the clock; preferably it should match the name of the region or time zone so that it can be easily distinguished from your primary time zone.
Step 7: To add another clock, check the second ‘Show this clock’ box, choose a time zone and change the display name of the clock or use the default name like Clock 2.
Step 8: Tap the Apply button.
Step 9: Click OK to save the new hours.
When you hover your mouse over the Date and Time section of the taskbar, the tooltip displays the time and date of the local and new time zones.
And when you click on the taskbar clock, newly added clocks will be displayed directly above the calendar.
Multiple Hours to the Rescue
If you are having trouble keeping track of the time differences for multiple regions, you should use one of the above methods to add the corresponding times to your Windows computer. This helps you effectively manage your daily tasks and activities, especially with people living in different time zones.
