In this video test, Moniz Smartphones with IP 67 certification and other devices with IP68 certification. An IP67 certified device is protected against immersion in water (maximum 1 meter for 30 minutes) and dustproof. Taking advantage of the IP68 form, a smartphone can be submerged in a liquid higher than 1 meter for a maximum of 30 minutes. Sony Xperia XZ2 waterproof test video: more waterproof than iPhone X and Galaxy S9 Plus
In this video test, the iPhone X and Huawei P20 Pro (two high-end smartphones benefiting from IP67 certification) face off against the Galaxy S9 Plus, LG G7 ThinQ and Sony Xperia XZ2, all 3 IP68 certified.
As you can see in the two videos below, 5 smartphones were submerged in a tube of water. Matthew Moniz then lowered the IP67 smartphones to a depth of one meter. IP68 devices were placed more than 1.5 meters deep.
A few hours later, iPhone X and Galaxy S9 Plus are completely unusable and out of service. The P20 Pro and G7 ThinQ were more resilient but have had some glitches since then. Matthew Moniz notices that the speakers and microphone are no longer working properly.
The real winner of this magic test is Sony Xperia XZ2. The smartphone of the Japanese company came out undamaged and without the slightest malfunction.
