While the Galaxy S6 will be on the market tomorrow, the Phonebuff YouTube channel offers us a new comparative drop test with its main competitor, the iPhone 6. Quite an interesting test since this test was done, using a machine that should simulate a real fall.
As you know, the screen and back of the Galaxy S6 are covered with Gorilla Glass 4, which should be the strongest protective glass on the market. However, a fall from a ridge of 3.3 feet, equivalent to one meter, was enough to break it in several places. The iPhone 6, whose back is made of aluminum, successfully passed this initial test, despite a few minor surface scratches.
Of course, when it comes to dropping the two smartphones in front, the detected damage is immediately greater. Screen shattered and both won’t recover. After falling on its back for the second time, the iPhone 6 screen still lights up, which is not available in the competitor. At this stage, it remains to be seen whether the latter is still repairable.
Coincidentally, shortly after, Samsung released an official drop test of its last two flagships. As you will see, after falling on his back with a similar test, Galaxy S6 remains intact. Here’s a video following the official resistance tests released late last week in response to SquareTrade’s tests, with the main interest being that it allows to evaluate the resistance of the Galaxy S6 Edge when it drops to its edge.

Of course, knowing that the two tests were each performed using a machine and apparently with a similar protocol. Therefore, it should yield the same results, which is not the case.
