💸How much are the prices of the Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra?
Samsung is offering the Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra at €909 for the cheapest variant. Note, it could be much more expensive for the S20 Ultra (5G) variant with 512GB of internal storage. Here are the price details:

📐S20, S20+, S20 Ultra… which format to choose?
The trio of S20s aren’t particularly compact smartphones. The smallest of the S10s was a 6.1″ model: the smallest S20 gains 0.1″ to 6.2″ for a screen size ratio ranging from 88.3% to 90.7% – pretty much the same with a little more We’re staying in the form factor with the screen on the front.
The S10+ was 6.4″ – the S20+ offers a significantly larger 6.7″ screen (90.1% screen-to-size ratio compared to 88.9% on the previous generation). Therefore, it will be less easy to hold with one hand. But if you are used to the biggest smartphones on the market, this format is the same as the iPhone 11 Pro Max or Samsung Galaxy A70.
The S20 Ultra category, on the other hand, is 6.9″ with a screen-to-size ratio of 89.9%, making it the most powerful model the least suitable for those looking for an easy-to-handle smartphone. Differences in price and specifications, as well as ergonomics, may make you prefer one format over another.

🌊Which offers the best performance?
The three variants are offered with the same Exynos 990 chipset, an analogue of Snapdragon 865, the latest generation of mobile SoCs carved in 7 nm+. All offer UFS 3.0 storage and ultra-fast LPDDR5 RAM. Therefore, the three variants should offer similar performance, if not identical.
This year, however, Samsung offers more options to decide between these models on a case-by-case basis. A 4G or 5G variant of the classic S20 is available – the difference is not in the execution speed per se, but the 5G download speed may affect the perceived increased user experience.
Additionally, the amount of RAM can play a role in performance, especially if you use a lot of heavy apps or play demanding games. In typical use, this shouldn’t really make a difference – 8GB or even 12GB of RAM is more than enough in most cases. But 16GB (as in most laptops in 2020…) no doubt power users.
⚡️ Which smartphone to choose for autonomy?
The three smartphones offer particularly generous battery capacities this year. In other words, the S20 starts from 4000 mAh, the S20+ offers 4500 mAh, and the S20 Ultra has a huge 5000 mAh battery. A priori everything would be particularly good in terms of autonomy. But something tells us that the S20+ and S20 Ultra will be a good step ahead of the base model.
It should stay very true in this respect: For the record, the S10 was presented with a 3400 mAh battery and the S10+ with a 4100 mAh battery.
📸 Which variant to choose for the photo?
Three models, three different photo capacities. What sets the S0 apart from the S20+ is the depth sensor. You might not even notice the difference normally, but this depth sensor, also called ToF, creates a delicate mask that allows for effects like Bokeh to be applied much more naturally. Threads cut better with less deflection or “axe” clipping.
For the rest we have the same three photo sensors with fairly large photosites (1.4 µm – 1.8 µm) that should capture as much light as possible, all in a proven 12 Mp definition. However, you’ll likely miss the photo attack that the Ultra model represents. It has a 12 Mp main sensor, as well as a quad sensor array (including a ToF sensor) with a 108 Mp wide angle and a 48 Mp telephoto lens.
Samsung offers “Space Zoom” up to 10x in “Hybrid Optical” mode and up to 100x in “Super Resolution Zoom” mode.
📶 Which smartphone to choose for 5G?
Samsung has chosen to offer 5G as an option, at least across all variants of the smartphone. You can choose the format you want. 5G potentially consumes a bit more power – if 5G is the reason you plan to switch smartphones and neither price nor form factor is an issue, we recommend using the Ultra variant.
