Galaxy Note 9 comparison: iPhone X and OnePlus 6 faster

Barely made official, the Galaxy Note 9 has already passed the test box before we begin to get a clear idea of ​​its potential. Tom’s Guide has run a series of tests, and not surprisingly, the Samsung phablet is doing very well. But despite its price of over 1000 euros, it is not the fastest smartphone on the market, especially surpassed by the iPhone X, which was released at the end of 2017. And 2018’s iPhones are coming soon…

Galaxy Note 9: iPhone X and OnePlus faster in comparison

It passed the Geekbench test to measure the overall performance of the Galaxy Note 9. It scored a multiple of 8876, which is far better than what the Note 8 offers (6564). It also found it slightly better than the Galaxy S9+ and LG G7 ThinQ but still more powerful than it. Already on Android, with a OnePlus 6 with a multipoint 9088. For its part, it still has a decent margin ahead as the iPhone X shows 10,357.

The Note 9 also performs better in terms of graphics in the 3DMark Slingshot Extreme 3.1 comparison. It achieves a socre of 4639 versus 4994 for the iPhone X and 5124 for the OnePlus 6. On the screen side, Tom’s Guide measures a brightness of 604 nits, lower than the S9+ (630) but better than its predecessor. iPhone X (574) and OnePlus 6 (574). In this area, the LG G7 ThinQ beats the competition with its 900 nits MLCD screen.

Note that the tests were conducted with the US version of the smartphone with Snapdragon 845 SoC. We are not yet sure whether the European model with Exynos 9810 will outperform. The Galaxy Note 9 tested here has 6GB of RAM, while there’s also an 8GB RAM version (marketed in France for 1259 Euros).
