It also packs an equal amount of power thanks to the Snapdragon 855 processor and One UI, Samsung’s relaunch of Touch Wiz.

However, all these bells and whistles will only get you so far if you don’t use the phone’s built-in settings and features properly.

1. Side Key customization

The button on the left is called the Side Switch. Yes, it’s called neither the Power Button nor the Bixby Button. However, it includes the function of both keys and more.

Double press and long press events can be customized according to your preference. So whether you want to launch the camera or an app of your choice or wake up Bixby, anything can be done.

All you have to do is go to Settings > Advanced settings > Side Key and make your selections. In my case, I am using Open App for Double Press and Close for Press and hold.

2. Customize the Edge Panels

Galaxy Note 10’s Infinity O display gives you an endless screen experience. And the best way to take advantage of this display is through the Edge Panels.

These panels make your favorite apps available instantly. All you have to do is swipe from the left of the screen. Yes, no more the hassle of opening the App drawer and fishing for your favorite app. And the best part is that these panels can be rearranged and customized according to your choice.

To do this, open the Edge Panel and tap on the little gear-shaped icon in the lower left corner. Select the panels you want and deselect the rest. Also, if you want to add apps to App edge, tap Edit and add your favorite apps to it.

To reorder the panels according to your preference, tap the three-dot icon at the top and select Reorder.

3. Record Screens Like a Pro

Another great new feature is Screen Recorder. It allows you to capture events on your screen and also records S Pen activities. All you have to do is pull down the Quick Settings menu, select Screen Recorder from the list and after 3 seconds your recording will be saved.

If you want to write with your S Pen, tap the Pen icon from the compact transparent control at the top. After you finish recording, double-tap the screen to bring back the controls and stop recording.

But the story doesn’t end there. You can choose the video resolution and audio source. To access these settings, open the Quick Settings menu and tap and hold the Screen Recorder icon.

4. Stay Away From the Screenshot Toolbar

Do you find the screenshot toolbar at the bottom annoying? Useful when you need to take a scrolling screenshot. However, it can be quite annoying as you have to wait for the panel to disappear to catch the next one. Fortunately, with the Note 10, you can now disable (and re-enable) the screenshot toolbar at any time.

For this, go to Advanced Settings > Screenshots and screen recorder and turn off the Switch of Screenshot toolbar.

5. Connection to your Windows PC

Want to send and receive SMS messages from your PC? Or, want to check all your recent photos taken on your Android phone? If the answer to the above question is yes, then you should definitely check out the new Windows Connect feature on your Galaxy Note 10.

This nifty feature lets you send incoming messages from the comfort of your PC. And if that’s not enough, you can also check notifications and recent photos in your phone’s gallery. Yes, you read it right.

The trick behind this magic is Microsoft’s Your Phone app. You must be signed in using your Microsoft account for the process to work. Fortunately, the setup process is simple and the phone walks you through most of them. Once the installation is complete, you will be able to do all the things mentioned above.

6. Enable Video Enhancer

This 6.8 inch phone is great for watching videos or Netflix documentaries. You can take the experience one step further with Video Enhancer. It improves the overall look of movies and videos and makes them look rich and shiny.

And you don’t need to open it manually or add any video playing apps to it. Instead, it chooses any app that can play videos, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or YouTube. Just play a video and you will see the increase in video playback quality.

You can enable Video Enhancer by going to Settings > Advanced Settings.

7. Convert Handwriting to Text

The Note 10 has several S-Pen enhancements, including the ability to convert handwriting to text. Not only that, if you have applications like Microsoft Word or some PDF printers, you can export there.

To see this magic in action, open Samsung Notes and scribble a line or two. Then double tap on the word and a small window will open with the converted text. Select it and tap Convert.

To save the note file as a Word file or a PDF file, tap the Share icon and choose one of the options from the list.

8. Dolby Atmos for Gaming

Who said you can only enjoy immersive sound while watching movies or listening to music? With the Note 10, you can enjoy a realistic gaming experience thanks to Dolby Atmos for gaming. It enhances the detail in games and gives you a concert hall type effect.

So whether it’s a heavy footstep approaching or the gentle whistling of the wind, you’ll be able to hear it all.

To enable it, go to Settings > Sounds & vibration > Advanced sound settings > Sound quality and effects and toggle the button of the second option and launch PUBG with all its power.

9. Turn On Smart Popup View

Another great feature of Samsung flagships is the Smart pop-up view. When enabled, the notification expands in a pop-up view when you tap the notification bubble

Smart popup view works best for message apps like WhatsApp and default messages app. The good thing is that the app you’re currently working on remains open below and you can continue with your work in the popup.

To enable Smart popup view, go to Advanced Settings > Smart popup and select apps.

10. Gestures or Buttons

Are you satisfied with the navigation gestures? If yes, you might want to give the Note 10’s navigation gestures a shot. It is very easy to use and you can also use the full screen of your phone.

There are helpful hints at the bottom of the screen to make the transition easier.

To enable gestures, go to Display > Navigation bar and select Full screen gestures. You may also want to turn on ‘Block gestures with S Pen’ to prevent the S Pen from being used for gestures (and thus prevent accidental exits).

11. Change Home Screen Layout

Since the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 are huge devices, the default size of the icons is quite large. They look tremendous. Fortunately, you can change their size.

To do this, long press the home screen and select Home screen settings. Next, tap on the Home screen grid and select 5×5. You can also change the apps screen grid to 5×6.
