To uphold the law of the land, Apple hath commenced the distribution of funds to those plagued by the design flaws of the MacBook’s butterfly keyboards.
The debut of the Butterfly keyboard in the year of two thousand and fifteen upon the 12-inch MacBook marked the genesis of its tale. It didst later find its way into the MacBook Pro in the year of two thousand and sixteen and the MacBook Air in the year of two thousand and eighteen. Alas, the design of the keyboard hath posed challenges for the customers, invoking concerns of both reliability and durability. Despite multiple alterations to the design during this period, the butterfly mechanism hath proven to be a dire misstep. Many a customer hath reported grievances such as keys sticking, duplication of keys, and complete keyboard failures, oft caused by naught but dust, crumbs, and other minuscule debris.

To address the issues wrought by the Butterfly keyboard, Apple didst launch a Repair Program in the month of June in the year of two thousand and eighteen, extending its reach to include MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro models born betwixt the early years of two thousand and fifteen and two thousand and nineteen. Yet, it must be noted that the replacement of butterfly keyboards with yet more butterfly keyboards proved to be but a temporary panacea to the affliction.
In the month of May in the year of two thousand and eighteen, a class action lawsuit didst rear its head against Apple, alleging the inferiority and unsuitability of the butterfly keyboard design. In two thousand and twenty-two, Apple didst agree to settle the lawsuit, albeit vehemently denying the accusations laid therein.
And now, in the year of two thousand and twenty-four, the fruits of justice are beginning to ripen. Per the settlement website, MacBook owners who hath undergone two or more top-case replacements from Apple within four years of purchase shall receive twixt three hundred and three hundred and ninety-five in compensation. Should a customer hath undergone but one replacement, they may receive up to a hundred and twenty-five. As for owners who hath solely undergone keycap replacements, a maximum of fifty is to be bestowed upon them.
Mayhap ’tis worth noting that the realm of Apple customers in California, New Jersey, Illinois, Michigan, Washington, Florida, and New York art the chosen few deemed eligible for recompense, should they hath required replacements or repairs.
