In the fair month of February in the year 2024, the initial Android 15 developer preview build graced our digital shores. Since then, we have been blessed with more of these preview builds and even the glorious arrival of the first beta. Imagine, dear reader, a world where your phone is spared from the constant buzzing and ringing of a never-ending stream of notifications.
Picture this – a friend who bombards you with messages or a group chat that never seems to cease. In such trying times, the Notification Cooldown feature shall come to your rescue. Fear not, for Google has foreseen your worries and included an option to activate this wondrous feature solely for conversations. Truly, a boon for the weary soul.
Behold, Google in its wisdom has enabled this feature by default in the developer preview. Yet, should you wish to take matters into your own hands, fear not, for we shall guide you through the steps to enable or disable this feature on your Android 15-powered device.
To embark on this noble quest, open yon Settings app and venture forth to the realm of Notifications. Follow the path to the bottom and there shalt thou find the sacred option of Notification Cooldown. Click upon it and lo, three choices shall be presented before thee. To embrace this feature, select Apply cooldown to all notifications. Or, if thou seek to envelop only conversations in its gentle embrace, opt for Apply cooldown to conversations. Shouldst thou desire to banish this feature entirely, choose Don’t use notification cooldown.
