Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge
We start with Apple’s most direct competitor, Samsung. The Korean had success at the beginning of the year with the Galaxy S7 and its curved version, the S7 Edge. Launched at the beginning of the year, the Galaxy S7 remains a benchmark on every level.
Its design is steadfastly high-end with a unique display. Arguably the best display right now, the Edge version pushes the limits even further. The camera is at the top, again among the best. And in the force field, again, nothing to say.
If the Galaxy Note 7 were to embody the big rival of the iPhone 7, the debacle of the explosions would have ended the confrontation. But the Galaxy S7 is pretty darn big against Apple’s smartphone. Especially since its big advantage is its price. Galaxy S7 can be found for around 500 euros Currently, it’s against 800 Euros for the iPhone 7. An important asset as the year-end celebrations approach.
HTC10
HTC is struggling to win over users, but its products are of high quality. HTC 10 is undoubtedly one of the best Android smartphones released this year.
If its design stays in line with what the brand has been offering for several years, HTC has integrated the best of what was on the market in early 2016. In terms of performance, It’s a beast worthy of the best on the market. The camera is also of excellent quality, the screen is very successful.
It is above average on the basis of autonomy. Where the HTC 10 outstrips its competitors is in sound quality. The smartphone is undoubtedly one of the best on the market at this level.
Like the Galaxy S7, the HTC 10’s few months of life have brought its price down. It can currently be found for around 550 Euros.. Again, it’s around 300 euros cheaper than the iPhone 7. It’s a complete smartphone to watch out for.
LG G5
LG has been doing great things in the smartphone market for a few years now. The best of the range has been very well received and the reviews are rave reviews. This year, with the LG G5, the Korean found something unique, innovative. It risks offering a slightly less well-finished model than its competitors in terms of design.
But LG G5 is currently the only modular smartphone. You can add modules to improve the user experience. For example, a sound module created in partnership with Bang & Olufsen makes the LG G5 the best smartphone in the sound field. Another module enhances the photography experience, another lets you replace the battery on the fly.
The LG G5 therefore shines with its originality, but not only. Technically, it also largely depends on its competitors: 5.3-inch WQHD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, dual 16-megapixel photo sensors, 4GB of RAM, etc.
The LG G5 is a racing beast that unfortunately hasn’t found an audience this year. But frankly, compared to the iPhone 7, it’s pretty new and innovative. The good news is that its price has also dropped: around 400 euros.
Xperia XZ
Like HTC, Sony is struggling to establish itself in the smartphone market. Even James Bond doesn’t want to be equipped by Sony. However, although his strategy is somewhat flawed, his products are still very successful.
Sony has created a design of its own, and although it changes little from year to year, it remains in effect. With Xperia XZ, Sony therefore offers the most complete smartphoneThe iPhone 7 has nothing to envy.
Its screen is a real success, and its 23-megapixel camera is terrific, even if we had hoped for better from the brand that supplied nearly half of the manufacturers. In terms of sound, Sony is doing very well and its performance is top-notch.
We will also highlight the excellent autonomy of the Xperia XZ. Sony has always known how to optimize its smartphones. The only difference from other models presented so far is that Sony has reduced their prices very slightly. Like this, Xperia XZ still costs over 600 euros and often even close to 700 euros. But it remains a reliable alternative to the iPhone 7.
Huawei P9
Huawei created a sensation during the presentation of the Huawei P9. Confirming its position as the 3rd largest manufacturer in the world, the Chinese at the beginning of the year presented an astonishing Huawei P9 with a particularly elegant design and a pair of photo sensors created in collaboration with Leica, which is above all a reference.
While it is not the best smartphone on the market in terms of performance, the Huawei P9 is among the best thanks to its internal processor. Autonomy allows it to be used for a day and a half, which places it in the high average. The Full HD IPS screen is also of excellent quality.
The highlight of the show is photography. Huawei P9 features a dual photo sensor designed with Leica. For example, it lets you create bokeh effects (blur effects) that make photos more artistic. The Huawei P9 has been a real hit and we understand why.
The Huawei P9, which was already available at launch at an affordable price (less than 600 Euros for the top-end) is currently available for less than 500 Euros for the highest prices. You can find it for around 400 euros. even below in the best case. It is undoubtedly a serious alternative to the iPhone 7.
Huawei Mate 9
Bigger, stronger, more studied, more everything. The Huawei Mate 9 is a kind of well-fed Huawei P9. Introduced in Munich at the beginning of November, the Huawei Mate 9 is the biggest smartphone to appear among the iPhone 7 alternatives. For one thing, it’s quite a competitor to the iPhone 7 Plus.
The Huawei Mate 9 isn’t just a big smartphone with a 5.9-inch Full HD display (sorry for the lack of WQHD). It’s also very beautiful, thanks to a design that has been worked on since the P9, and is very powerful, according to Antutu, outstripping the competition.
But still it is the camera with the most “wow” element“This is your smartphone. Again, Huawei has worked with Leica and again offers dual sensors. More specifically, it’s a 12-megapixel RGB sensor and a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor.
The other difference is the price. The Huawei Mate 9 has just been announced, so it’s still available at full price. Count 699 Euros to offer you. It’s still cheaper than the iPhone 7 Plus. An alternative to study.
3T
It’s only a few days old, but it’s making a lot of noise. The OnePlus 3T is a super-bloated version of the successful OnePlus 3.. The Chinese manufacturer stood out with an excellent quality-price ratio, it continues on this path.
The OnePlus 3T offers a simple and elegant design, a 5.5 inch Full HD Optical AMOLED display, but most of it happens under the hood. With a Snapdragon 821 processor and 6GB of RAM, this smartphone is making heavy shipments.
On the photo side, we have a 16-megapixel front sensor and the same right on the front. Crazy selfies are yours! Very clearly in terms of power, this OnePlus 3T is over the top. Its autonomy is not the best, but it is on a good average. What will convince you? Price: Available at 439 euros For the 64GB version that’s almost half the price of an iPhone 7.
honor 8
We’ve kept what will definitely be the best deal of the end of this year. Honor 8 is undoubtedly the best value for money at the end of this year. After a very successful Honor 7, the brand has managed to deliver a successor that has clearly gone up a notch in terms of skins and features. All for a still as low price as ever.
Despite the 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display, the Honor 8 is very compact and its design is obviously very successful, especially with the machined metal and glass. Under the hood, the power is there. It is not the best in this field but will undoubtedly suit all users, even the most addicted to their smartphones. Its autonomy is excellent, for users who are least connected to their terminals, it can reach two days.
That’s it for our alternative choices for the iPhone 7. Meizu MX6, Xiaomi Mi 5S or Google Pixel however, these models are not currently available in France except for import. But if you have other models to suggest, we’re listening!
