WhatsApp has been working on a feature that lets you send short video messages for several months now, and it seems to be available to some beta users now, according to information revealed by WABetaInfo.
The latest beta on Android is at 2.23.13.4 and on iOS at 23.12.0.71, users can now record and send video messages in real time, to add a sense of intimacy and authenticity to their speech. WhatsApp hopes this will add a new dimension to communication within the platform.
If video messages cannot be imported directly into the app, they can be recorded with screen recording as they are not sent in “view-only” mode. This gives users the ability to store and share video messages outside of the app if they wish.
Currently, the ability to save and share video messages is available for: Some beta testers who have installed the latest versions of WhatsApp beta for iOS and Android. However, WhatsApp plans to roll out the availability of this feature to more users in the next few weeks, but as usual, the company has not said when the feature will be available to everyone.
