According to a new report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently working on a feature to pin a message in a chat. In the new app update 2.23.3.17, which is currently only available to a small group of beta testers, WhatsApp has added pinned messages to its app.
As the name suggests, the feature helps prioritize important messages and keep them at the top of the conversation for easy access. This feature should be Accessible in one-on-one discussions, but also in group conversations.
To pin a message, you probably just have to select the new “pin” action in the message options that appear after you keep pressing on it. After the message is pinned, a small icon will appear in the chat bubble to indicate that the message has been pinned and The message appears at the top of the conversation for quick access when needed.
The good news is that it will be possible to pin multiple messages, which can come in handy for quickly detecting an important message. While we wait for the feature to be rolled out to all WhatsApp users, we remind you that there is another option in the app that lets you do something similar: favourites.
Instead of pinning a message, you can click the star in the top right after selecting the one you want. This will add the message to the “important messages” list., you can find it by clicking on the name of the conversation or the name of your interlocutor. So this is a good solution if you want to keep some important messages while waiting for the functionality to allow pinning chats to arrive.
