Topics reached 100 million users in just 4 days

With over 10 million users in just 7 hours, Internet users quickly realized that Mark Zuckerberg’s new social network would be far from a “flop.” As the hours pass, The registration counter continues to increase, which made Elon Musk very uncomfortable.

Indeed, Twitter is now seriously considering suing Threads for not only duplicating its platform, but also stealing former employees who left with internal documents. Amongst the many spades he sent to his opponent, Elon Musk recently described Mark Zuckerberg as “horned”.

Threads reaches symbolic milestone with 100 million users

An issue from the Search Engine Journal (SEJ) a few hours ago revealed that Threads is fast approaching 100 million subscribers. A few hours later, the social network has finally surpassed this symbolic barand the social network only took a little over 4 days to achieve this feat.

To put that number in perspective, ChatGPT took two months to reach 100 million users. While TikTok surpassed that bar in 9 months, it took the least. 2 and a half years on Instagram to convince so many users.

The ease of connecting to Threads is probably the biggest reason for the platform’s success. As a matter of fact, as soon as the application is opened, it offers you the opportunity to connect using your Instagram account. Even better, after you log in you have the option to follow all the profiles you follow on Meta’s other social network, so you don’t have to start from scratch.

That’s why Meta has clearly leveraged the billions of users split between Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp to make the new Threads social network a trending platform in just a few days. However, this strong popularity does not mean that everything is perfect on the platform. As we mentioned at the outset, the platform still has a few flaws and most of them will be fixed in a few months.
