TikTok finally offers to reset its feed ‘For You’

Although the future of TikTok in the USA is very dark, the social network continues to develop its formula despite the increasing ban threat of the White House.

Following the new parameters aimed at limiting the time of use of children, the application was equipped with a new tool on Thursday, March 16, 2023: The ability to “restart” your “For You” post.

The principle is simple. With this optionusers can now refresh “For You” posts where they can find videos recommended by the app’s algorithms.

TikTok offers the ability to reset its stream “For You”

It should be said that our tastes and interests may change over time. For example, if you’re a fan of Jenna Ortega’s famous choreography on Wednesday when the show airs, you might be bored of seeing your headline full of dancers today (more or less) talented swinging in Cramps’ Goo Goo Muck.

By enabling this feature, Your “For You” header therefore starts from scratch, as if you just signed up for TikTok. Attention this will not override the settings you have already selected and does not affect the accounts followed. In other words, you’re telling the app’s recommendation algorithms to start over.

How to enable new option on TikTok?

To access, you will need to go to: Settings Then click on the application Content Preferencesselect t “Refresh Your Feed For You“. All you have to do is click the button Refresh to start the process. TikTok warns you one last time that the transaction is irreversible.

As TikTok points out, this tool comes in addition to a plethora of content control options already available to the community, such as the ability to filter videos that use certain hashtags or terms. Users can also show them their disinterest not to find a creator’s videos in “For You” posts.
