Anyone who uses TikTok regularly knows: the app is a real goldmine when it comes to musical discovery. The social network highlights songs that are popular in the community, allowing you to encounter songs you would never find otherwise; so much so that it radically transforms record companies’ communication strategies. Still, TikTok has been slow to take full advantage of this feature.
In fact, right now you have to press the button at the bottom right of your screen to find the artist and the name of the song, then go to your music streaming app, type search, and finally add it to one of the playlists. your playlists. It’s a particularly tedious process, especially for an app where music is an integral part of the experience. So it took time, but TikTok finally figured it out.
TikTok puts an end to the hassle of adding songs to your playlists
Finally, on Tuesday, November 14, the Chinese app announced the good news. A new button coming soon “Add to your music app” (French name yet to be confirmed) will join the armada of features. The button will do exactly as its name suggests. Tapping on it will open three streaming service options: Spotify, Amazon Music, and Apple Music.
When Spotify is selected, the song will automatically be added to the user’s like list. The latter for Amazon Music will have the option to add it to a specific playlist. TikTok has not yet stated anything for Apple Music, but this is clearly seen in the image shared by the company. This feature is currently only available in the United States and the United Kingdom, but TikTok has promised to roll it out to the rest of the world soon.
