Having trouble taking the first step on Tinder? Get the swipe but never know how to open a conversation? Are you stuck with coming up with ice breakers? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this tutorial is for you. I scoured the internet looking for some of the funniest, cheesiest, and most effective buy lines I could find. This post lists some of the best Tinder one-liners I could find.
Some of these will be very NSFW so follow the links carefully. Some will contain overt sexual references, while others will be funny, slightly funny, or silly but funny. Either way, use it at your own risk!
Some of the best Tinder one shirts online
None of these links are my work. My job was to filter the garbage and separate the bad from the good. Each of these websites has a good collection of Tinder one-liners that you can use or use as inspiration as you see fit.
complicated
Complex.com has this helpful Tinder one liner page. Some are pretty lame but there are some good ones here too.
GQ Magazine
GQ Magazine has a dedicated page for Tinder one-liners and openers. These are more mature than those on Complex, but can be equally effective if you know your demographic.
Men’s Health
There are several pages of Tinder one liners on Men’s Health, but there are more effective ones on this page. The women voted which ones worked or worked the most and listed them here. Worth checking out.
Thrill and Stuff
Hype and Stuff is full of useful information, but this page is devoted to pickup lines, and some of them are pretty good. A few are not mentioned on other pages either, which is nice.
zoo
Zoosk has a page dedicated to pick lines and that’s it. Most are tried and tested, so it may be better to use them for your own inspiration than to use them as they are. Still useful.
Geko and Fly
This page at Gecko and Fly has a bunch of Tinder pickup lines. Some are pretty fun and some are worth trying at least once. Another page with a double liner that I haven’t seen elsewhere either.
Best Online Life
I had never heard of Best Life Online until this piece but this page on Tinder one liner is worth a look. Some of them made me laugh and you probably will or your probable date.
Pick Up Linesz
Despite the strange name, this page on Pick Up Linesz actually has some good primers. You have to sort through the garbage as most are forgettable, but a few gems inside make this page worth reading.
Do Tinder one-liners even work?
Dating apps are currently the only place a cruise ship or pickup line still has a chance. This is mainly because time is short and attention spans are also short. You can get rid of them with one liner on Tinder, but you definitely can’t get rid of them in real life. If the person you’re handing them over doesn’t have a real sense of humor either!
That doesn’t mean buylines will work on anyone who uses Tinder. As with real-life dating, we all like and react to different things. So these are the best ways to take action on Tinder? They are not on their own.
The best way to achieve success on Tinder is to use a systematic approach. That means having great photos, writing an engaging biography, and then offering a great one-line. Each of these three things supports each other and increases your chances of success. If your images and bio are good enough, you don’t need a roundup line and more coverage for a more ‘sensible’ introduction.
There are loads of websites that will talk to you about creating a great Tinder bio. Techjunkie has a few of them. I know because I wrote some of them. Follow their advice and get high quality profile pictures. Then write a great bio that showcases personality without being cheesy or annoying. Combine the two for maximum effect.
Then when it’s time to open a chat, you can go one of two ways. Find something that links to an image or is mentioned in the person’s bio. Or try one of the single lines linked above. Personally, I’ve had better success adapting an opener to something in a picture or bio when I use dating apps. Your mileage may vary. As with everything, there is no one size fits all for Tinder. You need to do what works for you and run with it. The more effort you put in, the more success you should achieve. That’s the theory anyway!
