Instagram launches Live Producer
However, this Friday, July 8, 2022, Instagram has launched a new feature called Instagram Live Producer.. This tool allows creators to stream via a desktop computer, specifically through specialized third-party software such as OBS or Streamlabs. To do this, Instagram will provide a stream key to enter your software.
As the Instagram teams remind us, until now, creators could only launch a live Instagram from their smartphones. Now with Instagram Live Producer, streaming on Instagram will work just as it would on other platforms like Twitch or YouTube. Users will be free to use other recording equipment and other microphones. more than what is offered by their smartphones. Before starting a stream on Instagram Live Producer (feature available on Instagram.com), The app recommends adopting the following specifications for your live stream:
- 9×19 ratio
- 720p 30FPS
- Resolution: 1280 x 720 (HD)
- Bitrate range: 2250 – 6000 Kbps
- Sampling frequency: 44.1kHz
- Channel Layout: Stereo
- Bitrate: up to 256 Kbps
How to start a live Instagram from your PC
Let’s see together the different steps to follow to start an Instagram feed from a computer:
- meeting day instagram.com and click the + icon in the top right and select Live in the drop-down menu
- Fill in the title of the live stream and choose your target audience (Practice for the quiz, Audience for a stream to your Subscribers). You will find it on the next screen unique URL of your live stream and your stream key
- Once complete, launch the streaming software of your choice (OBS, Streamlabs, etc.). Search for where to enter your URL and stream key, Add Instagram Live as streaming endpoint
- Configure your stream as you like (it is recommended to follow the technical recommendations outlined above) and start your stream
- You can preview what your stream will look like via the Live Producer viewer on Instagram.com
- If everything suits you, just click Live broadcast top right to start the stream
