Instagram introduces new features for parental controls

Instagram has started rolling out new tools for parental controls, an update it promised in December. Instagram boss Adam Mosseri touts them as ‘first set’Parental control tools for social networking.

These tools are for parents and guardians who want to do this, view the time teens spend on Instagram and set limits, to get updates about the accounts they follow and the accounts they are followed, as well as get notifications when they report another user. The arrival of such features is good news for tracking children’s movements on Instagram, which has recently prompted users to spend more time on the app.

For now, the update is unfortunately only available in the United States, but spread to more countries over the next few months. Instagram also added parents’ parental control features only to teens “ start the control themselves however, they will also be able to approve or deny a parental control request from their account.

In the future, Instagram wants to enrich its parental controls by allowing multiple parents to control a teenager’s account. Define the hours the application can be used. We also know that Meta is actively working on a version of Instagram dedicated to children under 13 to give them their first social experience in complete safety.
