How to Use WhatsApp?

WhatsApp for Windows 10

WhatsApp messenger is a popular cross-platform instant messaging client for smartphones. You can send pictures, videos, text messages, locations, etc. to other users. It uses the internet to send it. Users who don’t need a smartphone can now access this popular cross-platform messaging app if they have a PC (laptop, desktop, or notebook) with the required minimum hardware specifications. Originally developed for Android platforms, WhatsApp requires an emulator like BlueStacks to run on other platforms like Windows. Some minimum features are required for these emulators to work flawlessly:

  • 2GB of RAM
  • Dedicated graphics Card from NVIDIA, AMD or Intel
  • At least 9GB of storage must be available
  • .Net framework 2.0 SP2 and
  • Windows Installer 4.5

In order for BlueStacks to run really smoothly, a number of recommended features should be used:

  • 8GB of RAM
  • 4GB dedicated graphics chip from NVIDIA, AMD or Intel
  • 9GB of available storage

And the rest as stated above; Installing WhatsApp messenger on mobile platforms is quite different from installing it on PCs running Windows 10 Operating Systems. Some users may experience machine slowdowns as the emulator software uses a large portion of your average computer’s memory. A second method for easy access has been made available by the WhatsApp messenger team, allowing users to directly access the popular cross-platform text messaging program online on Windows 10. The whole process has been shortlisted:

First visit the official website of the WhatsApp software and then click on the ‘WhatsApp Web’ button displayed at the top of the page.

run whatsapp on windows10

This will open a new page on the WhatsApp website with an area to scan and you will be asked to scan the QR code with the phone to connect the two accounts. This will enable WhatsApp messenger to be accessed on Windows 10 platform without any installation procedure.

However, the aforementioned process only works if a user has an existing WhatsApp account and can access that account via Smartphone. However, if the user does not have a smartphone, the emulator installation procedure should be followed:

  • BlueStacks App Player software must be downloaded and installed on the computer, similar to all regular software downloads. However, this will require a valid and active mobile number for account verification/activation.
In relation :  After a long wait, WhatsApp finally launches a useful feature similar to Telegram

run whatsapp on windows10

  • During installation, BlueStacks will ask for access to App Notifications and App Store. This is up to the user’s judgment and responding to it positively or negatively will not yield any additional benefits.
  • After the installation procedure, BlueStacks will run in full screen mode. Tap the icon located in the upper right mod to make it work in windowed mode.
  • Launch the browser and download WhatsApp. While keeping Blue Stacks running the apk file in the background.
  • Then double-click the downloaded WhatsApp.apk file. This will result in automatic installation of WhatsApp messenger on BlueStacks App Player.
  • While navigating the BlueStacks App Player, you will come across a number of installed apps, including games and other apps. Find and launch the WhatsApp messenger app to launch it.
  • The steps now become similar to the initialization steps observed on Smartphones. By sending an SMS you will be asked to provide a valid and active mobile number that will be attempted for verification.
  • Then wait for about 5 minutes as WhatsApp will try and fail to verify the number. You will find an option to verify your mobile number by answering a call. Clicking this will result in an instant call asking for the verification code which will be spoken aloud at the same time.
  • Entering the verification code will allow WhatsApp messenger to fully work on your PC. However, none of your contacts will be visible and you can add your contacts one by one by clicking the three dots in the upper right position. You will need to ask the admins of the groups you were a member of before to let you in again.
