Bumble is a popular dating app known for its female-friendly interface. Some people tend to go into a “sliding trance” while in these apps, and this can be disastrous when you suddenly realize that you’ve let your children’s parents-to-be go.
Bumble puts a lot of emphasis on real matches, rather than just trying to connect with any user willing to respond. For those who are new to this dating app, it is important to understand who likes you. Check out this article: How to Know When You Receive a Match on Bumble
Fortunately, Bumble offers a method for trackbacks. If you’ve changed your mind, accidentally swiped left, or just want to reconsider swiping in a hurry; Bumble gives you the option to track back your previous swipe. In this article, I’ll show you how to get backlinks on Bumble and how to get additional backlinks if your initial allocation runs out.
Before we get into the details of backtracking, let’s review the rules and procedures for swiping in Bumble.
swipe right
As with Tinder, swiping right on a Bumble profile means you like that person and want to start a conversation. If they alternately swipe right, a match is created and you can talk to each other.
If you’re a man looking for a woman on Bumble Date, you have to wait for the woman to start the conversation – this is Bumble’s unique feature. This dating app allows women to initiate any kind of communication. If you’re a male and you swipe on a female, you won’t be able to talk to her until she swipes over you and sends you a message. After the first meeting started; Both parties can communicate freely with each other.
For any other gender/orientation combination, or in Bumble “friends” and “work” modes, either party can initiate the conversation.
After the match; A conversation must start within 24 hours, otherwise the match will be lost. With a paid upgrade to Bumble Boost, you can “extend” a match for another 24 hours.
Here’s a fun fact: You can’t backtrack someone you swipe directly. You can only go back to revisit a potential match you accidentally swiped left.
Accidentally Shifted Right in Bumble
As mentioned earlier, there is no way to backtrack a swipe right (like someone’s profile) in Bumble. If an error has occurred, there are a few things going for you.
The person you swipe over will also have to swipe back to you. If it’s an acquaintance, you’d rather not date; they probably don’t swipe you either.
A female buyer has only 24 hours to respond to your concern. If the scroll is not recognized within this time, the receiver will not see it.
Assuming a match has been made, you can always ‘unmatch’ the profile. Although the person you choose not to interact with has been notified of a connection at this point, you can stop further communication with this function.
drag left
Swiping left, of course, indicates that you don’t want to be matched with the contact. When you swipe someone left, that person won’t appear in your stack again (and you won’t appear in their stack either). Of course, accidents happen.
Whether you swiped your finger or changed your mind after some more thought, a left swipe can go back and get a second chance. This allows users to recover a profile if it was accidentally removed.
You can undo the action by shaking your phone right after an incorrect left swipe.
Trackback on Bumble
Unlike Tinder, where the ability to redo is a premium feature that costs extra, on Bumble you can bounce back absolutely free. It’s also as easy as pie. If you find that you shouldn’t swipe one to the left, all you have to do is shake your phone.
If you’re new to Bumble and accidentally swipe left, the natural thing you might try to do is swipe back to the profile. If you do, the above message will appear on your mobile device’s screen to let you know that you can jam your phone to trigger a trackback.
When you shake your device to track it back, a confirmation screen pops up. If you are sure, drag the yellow circle to the right and puff, your potential match is on the screen again.
Consumables Limited
Wait a minute – what about the remaining three back steps? Are you saying that there is no eternal return? I am sorry, no. You are allowed to record up to three tracebacks.
Even though the returns are free; The downside is that you only get three at a time. and the app keeps track of how many of them you use. This information is prominently displayed in the Backtrack confirmation window.
Your returns are refreshed every three hours, so you’re out of luck for long. You just have to wait.
I Hate Waiting!
If you can’t wait, it’s easy to get more feedback.
When you run out of backlinks and can’t wait for three hours, all you have to do is share your use of Bumble with your social media presence on sites like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
When you try to bounce back but your backlinks run out, the share window will pop up and let you send a message to your friends and followers. Just type the message you want to share and hit Send. When you do this, your Backtracks will be refreshed.
Why Is Bumble BackTrack Not Working?
If you’re having problems with trackbacks, there are a few things you can do to fix the problem. In addition to contacting Bumble Support, try these methods:
iPhone
Apple iPhone users, try these tricks to fix it:
- Open the Notes app on your iPhone
- Write a word on the blank document.
- After this is done; try shaking your phone again. Assuming the Accelerometer on your device is working properly, a prompt should appear asking if you want to “Undo” the scroll action.
If that doesn’t work then there may be a problem with your phone or your phone’s settings.
Android
Android users may experience problems with trackbacks. If this is happening to you, follow these steps:
- Sign out of the app
- Make sure the app is updated by going to the Google Play Store and checking for updates.
- Delete and reinstall Bumble
Performing these steps will not delete your profile or any account information stored on Bumble’s servers and not on your device.
