15% of social media users in the US use Facebook to shop, making it the second most shopped social network after Pinterest. This means it’s your responsibility to make the buyers shopping experience as smooth as possible, which brings us to Facebook Stores.
This is by far the biggest leap forward in e-commerce after the latest Facebook update and Facebook Marketplace and Store Pages.
Stores catalog your products in collections and allow interested customers to search, save, share, and even purchase your products within the app.
Wondering how to set up a Facebook store?
Let us walk you through what Shops has to offer, what it takes to create a shop, and how to set it up.
Here we go.
What is a Facebook Shop page?
It can be easy to get confused between a Facebook Store page and a Facebook Store because of their names.
However, it’s very simple: jump pages are the predecessors of Stores. Facebook has announced that store pages will gradually be converted to Stores, and owners will receive an email, notification, or both notifying them.
What’s more, Facebook Stores give you in-app payment option (currently only available in the US). On the other hand, shopping pages direct users to your website to complete their order.
What are the Facebook Store fees?
While setting up a Facebook store is free, there is a Facebook store fee applicable to orders processed using the in-app payment option. This processing fee is 5% on each order, or a flat deduction of $0.40 for orders of $8.00 or less.
If you’re planning to set up your Facebook Store right away, we have good news for you: Facebook has waived transaction fees until the end of this year (December 31, 2020).
What are the benefits of a Facebook Store?
90 million small businesses use Facebook to connect with their audience for all the benefits the network has to offer. With a Facebook store, these benefits will increase even more.
To start with, here’s what Shops offers:

- Stores are customizable, allowing you to change your Store’s button color and text size, among other styling options.
- There is no limit to the products you can add to your store. Adjust them in collections for easy navigation, enhancing the buyers experience.
