Bumble is a dating app very similar to Tinder, but with one key difference. Both apps have picture profiles, links to social media accounts, and use a swipe left, swipe right pattern to make matches. The main difference is that the woman must initiate the conversation.
In an opposite-sex match in the dating section of Bumble, both parties must swipe right to make a match – but once that match is made, only the female can start the conversation.
The goal is to clean up the dating community on the app and avoid many of the problems common on Tinder. On sites like Tinder, there’s a prevalence of men who can’t take no for an answer, are desperate, socially inept, or simply don’t have a clue. These guys start conversations with overly forward-looking quotes or stupid reply lines, and they make women reluctant to swipe right because they worry that the next thing in their inbox will be an incident and it will escalate further if turned down. personal attacks or rudeness. Women who give women the power to start the conversation are given the power to set the expectation right from the start of the conversation, whether that tone is sexy or sexy, totally sensual or totally non-sexual.
When two people match on Bumble, the woman has 24 hours to start a conversation. After this first message, the man has 24 hours to respond. If that doesn’t happen, the match is over…or is it?
Trackback and Remap
Let’s clarify that there is a difference between backtracking and remapping.
backtracking
Backtracking is when you swipe someone left but have to swipe right. On Tinder, you’re out of luck unless you subscribe to one of their premium service tiers. But you can usually go back in Bumble.
Trackback is simple – just shake the phone once you realize your mistake; The most recent left swipe will be undone. Note that once you swipe right, you can’t go back! Free subscribers get three Backtracks every three hours, which should be enough for all but the most clumsy. Bumble Boost subscribers get unlimited Backtracks.
remap
Remapping is different. In a rematch, the user can revive an expired link. Unfortunately, for this to work, the user who wants to rematch has to pay for the premium Bumble Boost service.
When you enter the match section, you will see the expired matches along with your current matches. Select the expired match and tap “Rematch” and the match will renew for a 24-hour grace period.
If you don’t pay for Bumble Boost and don’t plan to, make sure you use your daily free “extension”. The “Extend” feature allows you to extend the time with another person. This is an excellent tool if you’re hoping someone will reply to you or start a conversation with you, remember, free subscribers only get one of these per day.
Getting Bumble Boost
The downside to Bumble Boost is the cost – by comparison, the subscription can be quite expensive. This prepaid service gives you the option to see your “Beeline” (which swipes directly on you), unlimited extensions and more.
For those serious about finding the perfect match and having more freedom on Bumble, here’s how to start your subscription:
- Open the Bumble app on your phone
- Tap on the little profile icon at the bottom left of the screen
- Tap ‘Upgrade’ to upgrade your membership
- Choose your plan and tap ‘Continue’
- Enter your credit or debit card details and tap ‘Subscribe Now’ at the bottom of the screen
As you can see in the screenshot above, several pricing plans are available. If you missed a match with the perfect person, you can always choose the one-day payout option to get them back without spending an inordinate amount of money. Assuming you love the app, the Lifetime premium is only $119.99, which really isn’t bad at all.
Can I rematch someone in BFF mode or Bizz mode?
If you missed a match with a potential gay friend or prospective colleague, you can use a rematch to try to reconnect with them. The feature and instructions are the same as above.
Why can’t I have a rematch with someone?
If no messages were exchanged, you may not have the option to remap another user.
What can I do if I don’t want to pay for Bumble Boost?
There is a really interesting theory given by Bumble in a tweet that you can uninstall and reinstall your Bumble app to refresh your stack. Hopefully this will bring back the person you want to rematch. Try resetting your Bumble account to rematch with the other user.
