Everyone enjoys posting interesting photos, videos and memes to their friends on Instagram, and even better if there are quick replies and reactions. But your friends and followers don’t always need to know when you’re active on Instagram. Sure, sometimes you might want to hang out and chat with people. However, at other times, you probably want to be alone to browse the feed and watch the stories in peace. Here’s how to hide your active status on Instagram when you want to be alone.
Event – How to View?
About a year ago, Instagram announced and launched the feature that tells your friends and followers that you are active on Instagram. This green dot is shown in the Direct inbox Instagram tab, which is essentially a chat feature. However, the green dot is also displayed when a follower wants to send any post as a direct message. This can be a little annoying, especially if you don’t want everyone or a specific person to know that you’re lurking on Instagram right now.
In reality, Instagram has made it so that only accounts you follow back can see your activity status, as well as accounts you chat with directly using your inbox. However, when someone reposts your story or reposts your post as a story and you thank them, they can almost always see your activity status. As a result, you may want to hide your Instagram activity.
Hiding Your Activity Status
Instagram hasn’t made it that hard to hide your activity status from others. All you have to do is go to your profile by tapping the profile icon in the lower right corner of the app. On your profile screen, tap the three horizontal lines in the upper-right corner and then the gear icon. you are in now Settings Menu. swipe until Privacy Select and tap it. Now, go to: Activity Status and turn the switch next to it Show Activity Status closed.
However, keep in mind that turning this option off will also prevent you from seeing the activity status of the people you follow. You can’t see if they’re active or when they were last active, just as they can’t see yours. If you message someone on Instagram, they’ll get the message right away.
Direct Message Notifications
If you’re not receiving direct message alerts from your friends, you can change it here: Settings Menu. Go to the menu as you did before and Notifications Episode. From here you will be able to control which notifications you receive alerts for. Faucet Direct Messages and choose Open for Messages and also for any other options you want to be notified in the list.
It is generally recommended to rotate. Message Requests You run the risk of hearing from closed or all kinds of spammers and scammers.
Hiding Your Content and Who You Follow
After you close your activity status, no one will know that you are online on IG. But if you want even more privacy, you can hide your content and the people you follow. You can do this in two ways, one of which basically involves switching to Private Mode. However, while in Private Mode, people who do not follow you will not be able to access your profile and see its content. This may not be recommended for all influencers, celebrities and niche celebrities.
To switch to Private Mode and hide who you follow, go to: Settings find the menu item and private account choice. Turn the key and a warning will appear. choose Yup. From now on, if people want to see your content and the people you follow, they will have to request your permission and wait for your approval.
Alternatively, you can block certain users from seeing your Instagram profile. To do this, go to that person’s profile, tap the three dots on their page, and then Block. Confirm and that’s it!
Hiding Your Likes
Now, achieving this is a little more complicated. As a platform that highlights the likes as well as the visual content, Instagram will not give up its bread and foam. There are several ways to hide your Instagram likes, but they are not a “solution” in and of themselves. First, you can undo the likes you don’t want others to see. Do this by navigating to the post or comment in question and tapping the corresponding heart icon.
Alternatively, you can use Instagram’s artificial intelligence to your advantage and hit the like button on 8+ random posts. Instagram lets your followers see the 8 most recent posts you liked. So, like 8 random posts after your last like and no one will know about your “real” like.
Hiding Comments
Unfortunately, there is no way to hide a comment on Instagram. Once you’ve done that, the only way it will disappear is if you or the person who owns the post deletes it. You can bury it in a sea of other comments, but it’s not a solution.
Instagram Event
It’s pretty easy to hide the most basic form of Instagram activity (Direct chat). Other forms of activity, such as likes, comments, or following, are a little harder to hide, or even borderline impossible. There are some workarounds, but they’re not exactly solutions.
