How to go live on Twitter
As with any video recording, use the best possible lighting and sound for your live video broadcast. This will make your audience more likely to watch longer, engage in discussion, use reactions, and share the live stream with their followers.
All in all, this will give you a boost in the Twitter news feed. Keep reading for 14 steps on live streaming from start to finish.
Step 1. Open the Twitter app
To go live, open the Twitter app on your iOS or Android smartphone, tablet or other mobile device. Find the right version for your device if you don’t have it yet here.
Step 2. Tap on Create icon
Log in to the account you want to go live with on Twitter and tap the Create icon.
Step 3. Tap on the camera icon
Next, tap the Camera icon. From here you can access, take or live stream photos from your photo library.
Step 4. Go Live Without Catch
Tap on Live To switch from the Still Capture option to the live streaming feature
Note that tapping this option will not automatically start your live stream. You will have a chance to confirm when you want to officially make your Twitter video live.
Step 5. Add a tweet to your live event
Before going live on Twitter, you can add a description to let your followers know what your live stream will be about.
This will be the tweet that acts as the announcement for your live stream on Twitter, so be sure to count with relevant keywords, mentions and hashtags.
Step 6. Add a location to include your local community
Add a location to your Twitter live stream for individuals or businesses looking to attract a local audience.
Step 7. Invite guests to join
Tap to invite guests. invite guests. It allows you to send invitations via Direct Message to people you want to join your broadcast. You can have up to three guests at a time during your Twitter live video.
Step 8. Go live
When you’re ready to go live on Twitter, tap Go Live. Your live stream will start (based on your connection speed).
When you’re live, you’ll see it at the bottom of your screen.
From here you can start talking live with your followers and using the chat for text.
Step 9. Flash, turn the camera and mute the microphone
Keep in mind the three icons at the top of your screen if you need it. It allows you to turn on your camera’s flash, on the other hand, turn your camera to record and mute or unmute your microphone.
Step 10. Access live video options
Tap the live video options (three dots) at the bottom right of your screen.
Using these options you can:
- View your current Broadcast Details, including the number of live viewers.
- Ask people to follow your account or share your live stream.
- Check out the guest list or invite people to join the livestream.
- Start a sketch to share your ideas more creatively.
- Switch to Cinema Mode and focus only on your video.
- Turn your camcorder to record from the other side.
Step 11. End broadcast
When your broadcast is finished, you can end your broadcast by tapping the icon. x In the upper left corner of your screen. You will receive a message confirming that you want to end your broadcast.
Faucet stop broadcast You can also cancel to resume your Twitter live stream.
Step 12. Edit the post
At the end of your broadcast, you will have the option to edit and view your statistics.
The edit option allows you to change the title of your post and choose a thumbnail for your video.
tap on Save Changes option when you’re done with your edits. click Completed When you are ready to exit the edit screen.
Step 13. View your statistics
Before you leave, you can view your stats and see how many live viewers you had during your broadcast. You will also receive additional participation details based on the level of engagement with your broadcast.
Step 14. Pin your post
Your post will end up as a tweet on your Twitter profile.
You can find the option to pin the tweet to your profile using the drop-down arrow in the top right corner of your tweet.
This allows you to move your live tweet to the top of your profile so your followers don’t miss it!

Include important links for repeat viewers, such as your call-to-action in the tweet for your live stream. This makes it easily accessible to everyone, even those who don’t have time to watch the whole replay.

Remind people to turn up their voices
