Have you created a circle but still don’t know how to invite members to join? Received an invitation on Life360 but can’t find the code anymore? Do you already have a code but the app now won’t let you join the circle with it?
These are just some of the questions we will answer in this article. As well as some details about the invitations that you should know before you start complaining about the functionality or restrictions of the app.
What is Life360 Code?
This is the code you get from Life360 when you create a circle. Using this code, you can invite family members or friends to join that circle. Note that you will not receive a unique code that allows people to join all of your circles.
Each apartment will have its own unique invitation code. Now you can invite as many people as you want to a circle. However, the developers recommend keeping circles small, up to about ten people. This will help the performance of the application and real-time location display.
This does not affect the number of circles you can create or join yourself. You can subscribe to multiple circles and this does not affect the performance of the application.
How Long Is the Life360 Invite Code Valid?
Unlike Facebook and other social media apps, once you send someone an invite to Life360 it won’t last forever. When you send a code to a family member or friend, they have only seven days to respond to that invitation using the code.
After the week is over, you’ll need to re-invite that person if they haven’t replied.
How to Send Someone Your Code
There are three ways to send someone the code needed to become a member of your circle. You can show them the code directly, send it via a messaging app, or send the code via the app.
If you want to invite someone into your circle, here’s how to do it:
- Launch the application.
- Go to your circle screen.
- Tap the plus icon.
- Tap ‘Send Code’.
- Choose the preferred method such as text, email or a social media platform of your choice.
- Then type or select the person from your list.
- Send the invitation message.
Note that people can still join your circle, even if you send them an invitation before registering an account. They have to download and install the app and then join a circle using the code you send them.
Invitation Lost?
What if you are not an environmental manager? What if someone invited you to join the Life360 circle and you misplaced the code? What will you do then?
There are several ways to find the code without bothering to re-invite that person. Still, you should start with that if it’s more convenient. Moving on, you can start by checking your SMS messages for the Life360 code.
If that doesn’t work, check your email, most likely the email used by the person who sent the invitation. Finally, you will also want to check your social media accounts. As mentioned earlier, an environmental manager can send an invitation code through various media.
So check any means of communication between the two of you to find your code. And if all else fails, request the code yourself. You do not need to create an account on Life360 via the invite link.
You can make one yourself and then use the code to join the circle.
- Download the Life360 app and create an account.
- Use your real phone number and email address.
- Sign in and tap ‘Circle Changer’.
- Tap on ‘Join a Circle’.
- Type the code and then tap the join button at the bottom of the screen.
You can repeat the process for any other invitation codes you may have received.
Forgot your code?
If you forget the code and want to show it to a family member so they can join your circle, simply go to the circle screen and tap the plus icon again. This will display the code. Note that when a code expires, there is no reason to write it down, as a new code will be generated for others you want to invite.
Stay on Top of Your Family Activity
There’s no denying that Life360 is more than a simple family finder. If you factor in its premium features including roadside assistance and warnings, the app can really help keep families connected in a much more meaningful way than most social media apps.
When it comes to invites, the limited-time redemption code may not be ideal, but it is useful as it prevents strangers from joining your group unannounced if they get hold of your code. However, some users have reported problems when trying to join a circle using a code. Let us know if you’ve had similar issues in the past and how you overcame them.
