How to Change Faces on Snapchat

Snapchat is one of the funniest social media apps at your disposal. You can post pictures, shoot videos, add filters, earn points and be totally creative to express yourself. When you’re feeling a little silly, there’s a feature Snapchat users call “face swapping”; You can replace your face with someone else’s. A lot of fun, to say the least, and sometimes a little weird or creepy.

Front-Facing and Rear-Facing Camera

The face swap feature can be accessed from the front or rear camera on your mobile device. After opening the Snapchat app:

1. Press and hold the screen where your face appears. If you are using the camera located on the back of your mobile device, you will see the rotating lines, which is the application that brings the face into focus. Otherwise, you’ll see a bunch of lines from the front camera that capture your face and bring it into focus.
2. Then, swipe and tap on the face swap icon. It’s a round, yellow icon with two white smiley faces and arrows. Now you and someone else move to the location of the faces displayed on the screen of your mobile device. When you’re both in the right position, two yellow smileys are shown in full view.
3. Now your face should be on the other person’s face and vice versa. The last thing you do is take a picture of the two of you. Simply tap the icon of your choice to take a picture from the front-facing camera. While using the rear camera on your device, tap the circle at the bottom center of the screen to take the photo.

Use Existing Photos Stored on Your Device

To use face swapping with your face and a photo stored on your mobile device:

• Use the front-facing camera on your mobile device. Just press and hold your face on your mobile screen. You will see the lines that capture the area covered by your face on the mobile screen.
• Swipe up to the last icon in the Snapchat app. It’s a purple circle, camera and smiley, and an arrow pointing from the camera to the smiley. This indicates that your face will be replaced with a selected photo from a photo stored on your mobile device. The app brings up pictures to choose from, then just swipe until you get the one you want to use for face swapping.
