In the summer of 2018, Instagram announced that it will add another interesting sticker to their arsenal. This time, it was the Music Sticker.
Music Tag works on both videos and photos. On top of that, the music library is huge! You can find almost all popular songs from different genres, and you will surely find a song in your library that fits your current mood.
You can easily add different music to your Instagram story by following our tutorial.
Adding Music to Your Instagram Stories
If you want to use the Instagram Music feature, you need to update your Instagram app to the latest version.
After updating your Instagram app, it’s time to test this cool feature.
First, you will need to open your Instagram Stories. You can do this by tapping the Camera icon located in the upper left corner on Instagram’s main feed page.
Take a video or photo and tap the Music icon at the top of your screen. If you don’t have a music icon, tap the Stickers button and look for this feature.
This will open Instagram’s Music library, which currently contains thousands of popular songs. You can search for the song you want by typing its name in the Music Search bar.
There are also three main categories you can use to filter songs: Popular, Mood, and Genres.
You can tap the Popular category to view trending music.
Tap Moods if you want to find happy, sad, energetic or other songs based on your current mood.
If you’re looking for some rock music or any other genre, select the Genres category to browse for your ideal Instagram Story song.
If you come across a song you haven’t heard before, you can preview it in Instagram’s Music library. Just tap the Play button next to the song and it will start playing.
Because Instagram Stories only take a few seconds, the Music Tag feature lets you cut a song and select a specific section.
For example, you might want to add the chorus from Guns and Roses’ song Live and Let Die. To do this, find the song in Instagram’s Music library and select it. After that, you will be able to fast forward and rewind the song to find the chorus part.
The Music Tag feature also lets you choose how long your soundtrack plays. The maximum time is 15 seconds.
If the lyrics of the song you selected are available, they will automatically appear on your screen.
Make sure you choose how your Music Sticker will look before uploading your story. You can do this by tapping the Music Sticker before posting.
Finally, by tapping the lyrics, your followers will be able to learn more about the artist who played the song in your story.
Instagram’s Music Tag Not Available in All Countries
The only downside to this feature is that it’s not available in all countries. It is available to users in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Germany, New Zealand, and Sweden.
If you live in a country that is not on the list, you won’t even see this feature in your Sticker collection. In addition, you will not be able to listen to the music broadcast by people with this feature.
Instagram Music Library Has Stopped Working
There are a few things you can do if your Instagram Music Library stops working.
First, restart your Instagram app. You can do this by going to your smartphone’s Apps via Settings. Find Instagram and manually stop it. This will close all instances of it.
After that, restart Instagram normally and check if the feature works normally.
If you still encounter error messages and still cannot use this feature, check for a new Instagram update. It is recommended to always keep Instagram up to date. This is because fixes for the most common bugs come in the form of updates.
If you’ve tried everything and nothing has resolved your issue, try contacting Instagram’s Help Center.
