Bumble is a swipe-based dating app with a twist. Focusing on the fairer sex, Bumble lets women choose who they want to chat with. So, if you’re a girl who is sick of your inbox full of messages from guys you’re not interested in, there’s a reason Bumble is sometimes known as the feminist version of Tinder (without incoming nobility or baggage). by word).
However, have you ever wondered how the app organizes profiles for you? Is it all random or is there more? One or more people with impressive IQ have a chance to solve the model for us (after passing all available Mensa test questions).
Bumble’s Algorithm
As you can imagine, Bumble did not explain how the algorithm works. However, as mentioned, there are some heroes who try to solve everything for us. Here are some results.
1. Swipes Right On Your Profile Appear First
Both Bumble and Tinder seem to have a similar algorithm that displays profiles of those who express interest before other profiles.
When you first started using the app, you may have noticed that you have the most matches. From there, the number of matches can decrease. Does this mean people are losing interest in you? Don’t worry, because that’s not the case.
All you have to do is swipe and you’ll probably see quite a few matches after a few days. Many people join Bumble every day, so your matches should begin.
2. Doesn’t Know Your Type
It’s good to have a type as you can reduce the number of people you want to talk to. However, Bumble seems to take the opposite approach. The app seems to go out of its way to show you various people who may not at all meet your standards.
Regardless of your previous activity, Bumble will not choose the types of people you like and will only suggest people whose profiles match that type. This means you can’t force the app to give you better recommendations by swiping right on those that fit your standards.
3. The Most Popular Profiles Around You Appear First
There’s a lot of discussion about this aspect of Bumble’s algorithm, but it’s true – those with the highest activity in your area are pushed to the top of the list. As unfair as this may seem, that’s exactly how it works.
This creates problems in terms of driving people to the hottest and most popular users. Those who have already won too many matches get even more, while those who do not risk falling further behind. After all, that’s how our society works, so you can’t blame Bumble for that, right?
Unfortunately, you can’t do anything about it except work twice as hard to climb the attraction ladder.
4. Your Profile Matters
Everyone wants to show off their best on dating apps. If you still haven’t worked on your profile, you might want to get started. According to those who know, your profile photos and information are very important.
Bumble can punish you if you post blurry photos or get a little too caught up in Photoshop. At best, you won’t be seen anywhere near the top.
Always make sure your photos are as clear and natural as possible. Also, complete as much of the profile as possible.
5. Your Activity Doesn’t Matter
Unlike Tinder, Bumble doesn’t really care when you last logged into the app. Tinder pushes back inactive accounts, while Bumble seems to highlight the above factors.
So, if you message someone and you don’t get a response, it probably has nothing to do with you. They may have given up on Bumble and haven’t logged in for a while.
What Happened or Not?
Here you go, here you go. This is all the information the good Samaritans have managed to uncover about Bumble’s algorithm. There is potentially a lot of stuff involved with ranking profiles, and most of them can be under your control.
If you keep your profile updated, you will get a boost. You’re also more likely to get matches, which will push you higher.
