Can You Use Tinder on PC?

While most of us use our phones for everything, there are times when it’s not the best option. Tinder hides your usage and doesn’t want to use the app, living in a poor reception area, but whether you have great internet or just prefer the larger screens of a PC or laptop, you still have the opportunity to quit. You can use Tinder on a PC, Windows, Mac, laptop, or any computer you own.

Tinder Online was launched in 2017 and works pretty well. It’s a very similar experience to the app but on a larger scale. A similar design and look keeps things like scrolling familiar. Only this time you do it with your mouse. You still swipe left or right depending on what you see, and you continue to see the profile cards you normally do.

Tinder on PC

If you mainly work on a computer, it makes sense to use Tinder on the computer as well. Either beside your phone or instead of it. The original method I suggested more than two years ago still works, but is now unnecessary. However, I’ll refresh this here as it’s always good to have options.

To use Tinder on a PC, laptop, or any web-enabled device you want to use, simply go to the Tinder website. You can create an account or log in using your regular method and view your profile and potential dates as usual.

This video from Tinder was posted when the web service went live to explain how it works.

As you can see, the look and feel are very similar on a slightly larger scale. You can’t get more or less, so it’s no better or worse than using your phone. Still a way to use it with less footprint.

Use the Tinder app on your PC

Before the web version of Tinder was released, the only reliable way to access Tinder from a computer was to use an emulator. I’d recommend Bluestacks and while it’s still good, I’ve changed my allegiance to Nox. An emulator tricks a phone app into running on a computer. These two are Android emulators and they work well. If you want to use an iOS emulator, you can with Appetize.io or Ripple. There are many Android and iOS emulators and they all work the same.

This method still works, but is only really relevant now if you can’t go with the desktop look and feel of Tinder Online. The process should be the same no matter what emulator you choose to use.

  1. Download and install a mobile emulator on your PC.
  2. Sign in to your Google account from within the emulator to access the Google Play Store.
  3. Search for the Tinder app in the store and install it.
  4. Sign in to both and start using Tinder.

If you log into Tinder using Facebook, you must also install it on your emulator. If you use your phone number, you obviously won’t.

Different platform, same rules

Even though Tinder Online is not a phone app, it still uses the same platform and therefore requires the same approach and rules. If you’re creating an account on the web because you don’t want to be seen with the app on your phone, you’ll have to work hard to stay private while still being attractive to potential matches.

This means:

A great profile picture

Having a quality profile picture has always been vital and that does not change. Your main image should be a head and shoulders that appear close to you. Make sure it’s a solo shot with a good background, you look smart or at least well presented, and use a smile if possible.

supporting pictures

Your supporting images can show your dog, kitten or whatever, your friends, hobbies, sports or looking cool on vacation. As long as your main image is your own, you can play with other images. Just make sure you don’t include old files or controversial people.

strong bio

Your bio is the supporting action after your profile picture, but people will sometimes read it. Make it as good as possible and add humor if possible. Both genders love someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously. The more cheerful you make your bio, the better it will perform.

Tinder Online is a different way to interact with dates but uses the same platform, same rules and same approach. You leave less footprints when you just use it.
