Samsung Galaxy Grand Vs. LG Optimus L7 II Dual

Big phones are getting so common that; The earlier feelings of holding a comedy phone are gone. We’re so used to big phones now that 5 inches and 4 inches seem normal. The two phones, the Samsung Galaxy Grand and LG Optimus L7 II Dual, are two such phones that are fighting each other for their place among the best mid-range phones.

In this post, we take them one-on-one and decide which phone will win the battle.

Design

The design of the Samsung Galaxy Grand is a clear attempt to emulate the best of the Galaxy S3 and Note 2. Considering that both are the best phones Samsung has to offer, it’s a solid test indeed. At a glance, the phone looks a lot like a larger Galaxy S3. It has the same curved design on the corner and chrome finish around it. Its 5-inch screen gives it a Note look. The LG Optimus L7 is designed in a more conservative way. Does not try to imitate anyone; good design, comfortable to hold and a style statement. Both phones have a thickness of about 9.6mm. Overall, gain straight lines and elegant design, LG Optimus L7 II Dual looks better and is easier to use. It doesn’t even look as flexible as the Galaxy Grand. However, if you want to show off with your phone, it would be better to choose Galaxy. Bigger than the Optimus L7.

view

Galaxy Grand has a 5 inch LCD display with multi-touch capacitive panel. For a phone that wants to make its size a selling point, the Galaxy Grand makes the mistake of choosing a display with a low resolution (800 x 480 pixels) and an average density of 186 ppi. The Optimus L7 has the same resolution, but measures 4.3 inches, and therefore the pixel density increases to 217 ppi, which is fine. If you put the two screens side by side, the Optimus L7 will definitely look better because of its sharpness.

If you only care about screen size, your choice would be the Galaxy Grand. However, the Optimus L7 screen is much better in overall performance.

Equipment

Both phones have a dual-core processor, but from different manufacturers. Galaxy Grand comes with 1.2GHz Broadcom Processor with 2 ARM Cortex A9 cores and VideoCore IV GPU. The Optimus L7 has a slightly slower 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8225 processor with 2 ARM Cortex A5 processors and Adreno 203 GPU. Both come with the latest Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, but with 1GB of RAM, the Galaxy Grand is better equipped to run the OS compared to the Optimus L7’s 768MB of RAM.
