Netgen Morgen Review: Good-Looking, Great-Sounding Bluetooth Speaker

Beebom has a lot of Bluetooth speakers, which is great because I love not only to listen to music, but also to review exciting new products. When we got the Netgen Morgen Bluetooth speaker, I was excited. However, since I personally prefer Sony speakers, I carefully tempered my excitement with Netgen Morgen in case I had too many expectations. I’ve been using Netgen Morgen for a while and Rs. 5,999The , isn’t the cheapest Bluetooth speaker out there. If you’re wondering if it’s worth the price, here is my Netgen Morgen Bluetooth speaker review.

Design and Build

When I first took the Morgen out of its box, I was pleasantly surprised by its design. Unlike most Bluetooth speakers that want to look and feel portable, Morgen is clearly Designed to stay in your home and blend in with your decor. It’s sleek, made of aluminum and covered in a soft cloth, unlike a Google Home speaker.

Despite that, the Netgen Morgen is by no means a big speaker, something heavy or hard to carry. In fact, while I personally feel you want this speaker to fit perfectly in your home, top handle makes it incredibly easy to transportso you to be Take it to outings and house parties at your friend’s house.

Thanks to its aluminum construction, the Morgen never feels flimsy or weak, or something you need to be very careful about. From using the speaker at work to putting it in my bag and carrying it home, it hasn’t been visibly damaged, and that’s really impressive.

Netgen was also interested in the little quibbles that might be here; The bottom of the speaker has two large, round rubber patches to ensure the speaker doesn’t slide off your desk, although the Netgen brand is placed up and in the middle, it’s small and classier than some other brands. I did. The only minor flaw I’ve found here is that the Morgen’s handle doesn’t fold down to make it easier to put in a bag; other than that, I am very happy with the design and structure here.

sound quality

While Morgen’s design and build are truly great, the sound is where the speaker really shines. At such a large size, I was already expecting pretty good sound quality, but Despite my higher-than-usual expectations, Netgen Morgen blew me away.

With two 10W speakers and two passive radiatorsThe Morgen can be pretty loud… really loud. However, with many Bluetooth speakers, loudness doesn’t matter, as they certainly degrade sound quality in exchange for loudness; Not Netgen Morgen though. This speaker manages to sound great at all volume levels. Bass is not lost at low volumes and the treble is always great. Even if the volume is set to maximum, the speaker doesn’t distort and overall it’s a really great sound pack. What’s more, the soundstage is quite wide, and the music from Morgen has a certain depth that is often lacking in many Bluetooth speakers.

Features and Buttons

As if all that praise wasn’t enough for this speaker, Netgen Morgen also comes with a slew of additional features. Equalizers, for one. While the right dial on Morgen is for adjusting the volume levels, can be rotated left to select one of the four equalizer presets on the speakers. There is Normal mode that works for Rock while listening to some classic rock songs, Jazz, Dance and of course everything else for the perfect evening with your sweetheart. The active equalizer is illuminated by an LED light so you always know what setting you are in.

Meanwhile, There is gesture support in the right quadrant. When I say gestures, it’s not pretty, but it definitely works. You can do swipe left or right on the right quadrant to jump between tracksand that’s pretty much it, but personally, I found this to be more intuitive and easier than pressing and holding a button, as most other Bluetooth speakers do.

There’s also NFC here, which makes it super easy to pair your NFC-enabled smartphone with the speaker. Just turn on NFC on your phone, turn on the speaker and tap your phone where the NFC logo is, that’s it, pairing has begun.

Then there’s the power button, which again does multiple things. Obviously, it turns the speaker on and off, but it also puts the speaker in pairing mode with a long press and plays and pauses the music with a short press.

ports

Moving on, Netgen Morgen doesn’t really have a lot of ports – there are only two here. one AUX input port, so you can get a 3.5mm cable and use a wired connection between your phone and the speaker. I’m not sure why you would want to connect a Bluetooth speaker to your phone using an AUX cable, but it’s good to know that Netgen has given us this option.

Apart from that, there is micro USB port here, you guessed it, for charging the speaker. I’m still not sure why companies won’t switch to USB-C in Bluetooth speakers as well, but we hope that happens very soon.

battery

Speaking of USB-C and charging, let’s get back to the battery on this thing. Netgen Morgen It comes with a 5,000mAh battery, which may sound big, but when using two 10W speakers, it’s fair to have a battery this big. About 70% by volume, Morgen takes about 6 hours on average, but most of the time you can use it comfortably at 50% volume and extend it for about an hour. It’s not much, but as I said, I personally think this speaker is better suited for home listening, meaning 6 hours sounds pretty good.

Charging takes place via the microUSB port, and according to Netgen the speaker charges at 5V/1A — it charges at 5W, similar to what you’d find on an iPhone XS with the included adapter, but pushing the iPhone aside. It takes about 4 hours to fully charge the speaker, and then it will last another 6 to 7 hours depending on the volume level you are listening to. If you’re wondering about battery performance at 100% volume, your guess is as good as mine because no matter how loud this speaker is, I haven’t been able to test it at 100% long enough for fear of neighbors complaining about me.

connection

In terms of connectivity, Netgen Morgen comes with: Bluetooth 4.0 — sad, I know, because most speakers these days come with at least Bluetooth 4.2, but it claims (and lives) a 10m connection range which is absolutely beautiful. The bigger bummer here is that the speaker doesn’t support aptX – now I personally don’t mind that because the sound quality here is absolutely fine, but hell if there was aptX support here, things would probably be even better. better, right?

pros and cons

The Netgen Morgen is a pretty solid Bluetooth speaker, but it’s one of the best for its price as well as a strong competitor, it does have some shortcomings, so let’s take a look.

Pros:

  • good build
  • excellent sound quality
  • good battery life

Cons:

  • No aptX support
  • Bluetooth 4.0

Netgen Morgen Bluetooth Speaker Review: Should I Buy It?

Netgen Morgen is a pretty solid Bluetooth speaker. It brings great sound quality, solid build paired with some really nice design options, and it looks like a solid speaker to consider. at Rs. 5,999, Morgen has some competition. There is JBL Flip 3, its price Rs. 5,999and there are also loads of Bluetooth speakers from Sony in this price range. However, despite all that, I suggest you try the Netgen Morgen, as it’s a really great Bluetooth speaker and if you don’t want the portability of the likes offered by something like the Sony SRS-XB12 (Rs. 3,650), Morgen sounds better than most of its competitors.
