After appearing lost in the whirlwinds of aggressive Chinese brands like Xioami and OnePlus set foot in India, Motorola is now trying to regain lost ground by bringing a promising new device at an attractive price point. Motorola One Power with a noticeably large battery and reasonable price 15,999 rupeesIt certainly made us wonder.
We get a lot of questions about how the Motorola One Power compares to its big rivals in terms of price, such as the Redmi Note 5 Pro, Mi A2, Nokia 6.1 Plus and the newly launched Realme 2 Pro. Therefore, when it comes to the many aspects that determine the choices of a buyer in search of a new smartphone, we decided to take you to the difference. Let’s go!
Design
Gone are the days when smartphones had an iconic and distinctive design, and these days, most devices – especially in the budget segment – cannot be associated with unique designs. The same is true for three of the five devices we reviewed. Mi A2, Redmi Note 5 and Motorola One Power look similar from the back. Realme 2 Pro and Nokia 6.1 Plus stand out with their bright designs from the group.
From five smartphones, Nokia 6.1 Plus is the most comfortable to hold may be associated with a smaller screen than the entire batch. However, in terms of usage, I find The Mi A2 is the easiest to carry because it’s the thinnest and has the best weight distribution. Realme 2 Pro also feels great and premium in hand.
Moreover, while Mi A2 and Redmi Note 5 Pro two smartphones with the best usability experience when it comes to buttons looks a bit outdated due to the lack of a notch. With the white face, the brothers are too unattractive for my liking, but the black face is relatively easy to accept. However, your preference for the notch will also play a role in choosing the smartphone that pulls you from the front the most.
Overall, if you’re looking for a comfortable design, you can go for the Nokia 6.1 Plus, the Mi A2 for practicality, the Motorola One Power for maximum liberation, and the Realme 2 Pro for sheer beauty.
view
To get ahead of our impressions of the design of the devices in the boxing ring. In terms of display, I would argue: Mi A2’s 5.99″ display has great colors with a slightly warmer tone than other devices. However, the screen is not very bright and not very user friendly under strong sunlight. Of the remaining devices, the 6.3″ panel on the Realme 2 Pro and the 6.2″ display on the Motorola One Power look more attractive due to their respective notches.
By the way, Nokia 6.1 Plus’s 5.8″ screen is compact For my average sized hands, it’s entirely up to you whether you like it or not. By the way, the 5.9″ display of the Redmi Note 5 Pro does not look stunning in front of the others. In terms of color, it is no worse than Nokia or Realme Pro, but the absence of a notch makes it less desirable than others. In terms of optimal use – or otherwise, for minimal damage – notch I think Realme 2 Pro has it an advantage due to being the smallest in size and software support for changing the notch per application.
If you can overlook the absence of the notch and therefore the uninteresting design, the Mi A2 clearly outperforms the others in terms of display. If you want to try the notch, you can choose between Motorola One Power and Realme 2 Pro.
Yield
When it comes to performance, the Motorola One Power – along with the Redmi Note 5 Pro and Nokia 6.1 Plus – feels slightly less powerful. This is due to the comparatively less powerful Snapdragon 636 versus the Snapdragon 660 used in the Realme 2 Pro and Mi A2.
In terms of scores calculated using popular benchmarking apps, the performance of these smartphones is as follows:
Device | AnTuTu | Geekbench 4- Single Core | Geekbench 4- Multi-Core |
Motorola One Power | 114547 | 1335 | 4879 |
Realme 2 Pro | 133324 | 1451 | 5419 |
Nokia 6.1 Plus | 115398 | 1336 | 4820 |
Xiaomi Mi A2 (4GB RAM) | 129863 | 1626 | 4565 |
Redmi Note 5 Pro | 113131 | 1326 | 4668 |
As you can see, the higher grade chipset makes for a more enjoyable plate for better performance, at least in numbers. In real life, Snapdragon 660 provides better usability and gaming performance richer graphics Because of Adreno 512 Compared to Adreno 509 connecting to SD 636.
Aside from the numbers showing gameplay and performance, the UI is detrimental to the overall experience. If you are used to Xiaomi’s MIUI, you can very well choose the Redmi Note 5 Pro. Otherwise, if you want a stock Android experience, both the Motorola One Power and Nokia 6.1 Plus should satisfy your need for a minimalist interface, with the latter giving you the option to turn off the notch.
If the notch isn’t the most desirable part of your smartphone purchase, the Mi A2 is a great option. Finally, in terms of ease of use of the interface, I find the Realme 2 Pro the least attractive because of its ColorOS skinThis is a nasty attempt to emulate iOS and has freaked me out since I first tried the device.
Camera
In terms of photography, all five smartphones have dual cameras on the back single sensors are responsible for selfies. out of group, Mi A2 noticeably has the most powerful and attractive camera, both – in terms of number as well as the output of the cameras. The 12MP+20MP setup leads to an enjoyable and perhaps most vibrant experience with good colors and remarkable contrast.
The 20MP sensor also enables the Mi A2 to capture much more detail and better colors in low light compared to other devices. When it comes to the best-selling portrait or bokeh mode, all devices support it, but here too, the Mi A2 takes the lead, capturing the edges more accurately than its competitors. A selfie flash and a good front camera keep the Motorola One Power’s elegance.
If a feature of Mi A2 prevents you from buying it, Motorola One Power prices are slightly lower than competitors, but much better. If I had to put it in my order of preference, after Motorola One Power it would be Nokia 6.1 Plus (camera review) followed by Redmi Note 5 Pro (camera review) and Realme 2 Pro (camera review). Finally, all devices support 4K video but not all of them have EIS/OIS which shakes things up in any case.

battery
Battery capacity is one department you don’t have to think too hard about, as the Motorola One Power stands out with its distinctive 5,000mAh battery. As I mentioned in its full review, the battery in the One Power alone can compel many practical users to buy the smartphone. In addition to being the largest of the devices selected, the One Power’s battery does not take long to fully charge, going from 5% to 100% in about 2 hours and 15 minutes.
while Motorola One Power Easily crosses the two-day mark with over 9 hours of screen-on time, other phones are down on their knees and the 24 hours are barely passing. Of the rest, the Redmi Note 5 Pro clearly provides better backup, while the Nokia 6.1 Plus charges comparatively less than the Mi A2 and Realme 2 Pro due to its Fast Charge support.
connection
On the connectivity front, the Motorola One Power, Mi A2, and Nokia 6.1 Plus fare better as they use USB-C, but the lack of a headphone jack on the Mi A2 might spoil the situation for some old souls.
When it comes to data connectivity, One Power lags behind all devices as it does not support dual 4G or dual VoLTE. Motorola has informed us that the feature will be added to the Android Pie update. Realme 2 is having some issues enabling VoLTE on Jio’s network which will be fixed with an update soon.
Motorola One Strength Against Its Biggest Rivals: Does It Take a Chance?
Motorola One Power pokes most popular devices like the ones I compared above. Motorola One Power (15,999 rupees) should definitely be your first choice if you are looking for a long-lasting battery. But if you’re after performance and good looks, I suggest you take a serious look at the Realme 2 Pro (starts at Rs 13,990).
On the other hand, if you want decent cameras along with a basic design and good performance, I recommend the Mi A2 (16,999 rupees). By the way, if a useful and beautiful design is what you desire for the Nokia 6.1 Plus (15,999 rupees) is a worthwhile choice and the pure Android experience is the cherry on the top. Finally, if you want the assurance of a loyal battery and a large pool of users first-hand experience, the Redmi Note 5 Pro (14,999 rupees) must be your device.
