The Dallas Cowboys have not had their best off-season or draft pick this year, with the team picking Tyler Smith, a guard who has been fighting penalties throughout his college career. Cowboys are trampled under extreme flags for offensive penalties throughout the season. Additionally, they haven’t traded for any solid players, but have released their star Amari Cooper. CeeDee Lamb is currently the best ball ball on paper for that team, but he has yet to come out of his shell and shine.
The team had no issues in the quarterback position, Dak Prescott was the most consistent they’ve ever had and probably the smartest draft pick they’ve had in a decade. Last year the team took a diamond on tough ground with Micah Parsons, he gave an excellent performance and played amazingly. A year ago, they took Trevon Diggs, who had a fantastic corner, who would stop the ball but also leave the most yards for the forward he was protecting.

‘It wasn’t a good end of the season’: Colin Cowherd criticizes the Cowboys’ off-season moves
NFL analyst Colin Cowherd Reacted to Dak Prescott’s statement “Talent is one thing, but if you don’t fulfill it, it really means nothing. I’m excited for these guys to be able to do this and prove people wrong. I know what this team has.”
Dak is truly a franchise quarterback, with a 98.7 passer rating, 66.6 percent of completion and a career record of 53-32 which isn’t bad, it’s good. Dallas’ biggest problem is offensive lines, aging players and ex-Pro Bowlers who are no longer as good as they used to be, the team needs to upgrade that. In addition, the lack of weapons has given the Cowboys more breadth than has been drafted or traded in the last few seasons, and Ezekiel Elliott, who should have been a beast, was nothing close to that. He secured the bag but after that, he had average seasons after another.
Colin fears Dak Prescott is getting into a similar situation to Derek Carr. “What you’re going to see in the next few years is that Derek Carr, who gets all the heat because of the position he plays, will relocate to the area, but will be a lifesaver for a franchise. do many things well and that’s Derek Carr” says Colin.
Due to the lack of enough supporting players and the team’s reluctance to trade in to recruit more players who have proven their worth, the Cowboys’ strict policy of preparing and grooming their players doesn’t seem to bear much fruit, change is needed.
“Dak was backed by a surrounding talent early in his career, now he’ll be the most reliable thing they’ve ever had and will get more criticism. Derek Carr has been a lifesaver for a sinking franchise, he’s finally backed up. Dak got it early and I don’t think he has much.” Colin is finishing up.
Judging by the cowboys schedule, they have a tough road ahead of them, the team has an inconsistent history. Will we be able to see Ezekiel Elliott deserving of the bag, or will we see the shadow of the actor he once was? CeeDee Lamb also needs to get on the plate and perform as Amari Cooper is gone. Only time will tell.
