this Indianapolis Colts they were recently selected to trade starting quarterbacks, Carson Wentz, is back in the NFC East, where he will play for the Washington Commanders. The move was certainly somewhat surprising, given the fact that they traded it for him just a year ago.
In his debut season, Carson Wentz started all 17 games and led the team to a 9-8 record. He threw for 3563 yards, 27 touchdowns and 7 passes. These are not flashy numbers, but they certainly aren’t bad.
Wentz was a more than adequate player, especially when you consider the hasty play of the Colts’ offense and the lead by Jonathan Taylor. The deal for Wentz included the Colts getting 2nd and 3rd round picks, as well as another 3rd round pick that could be 2nd.
These picks are certainly good values, but are they good enough to warrant progress from a quarterback where you trade a 3rd round pick and a conditional 2nd to 1st? Bucky Brooks did his analysis of the movement.

Bucky Brooks believes Carson Wentz isn’t the leader the Colts want
looks over ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ Quoted by Bucky Brooks Quarterbacks are given diva privileges, but you still have to be a regular guy in the locker room. You have two teams defending you (Carson Wentz). The Philadelphia Eagles had every reason to ensure your success. They paid him loads of money and moved on to Jalen Hurts. One of the reasons is that his connection really matters.”
Brooks added even more “Then you go to Indianapolis and you drop it off and there’s been talk that they’re going to continue in the middle of the year. There has to be something for that. There’s some kind of disconnect between Carson and the players or the coaches. That’s one of the things that has to resolve.”
resulted in Brooks “He doesn’t have a defender in the building anymore, so he has to figure out how to be a better player and leader, the franchise quarterback that many want him to be.”
With Carson Wentz out, the Colts now need to look at their options for finding a new quarterback for 2022. Whether they are using the picks they should be chasing after Jimmy Garoppolo or looking at free agent, they need to understand. out soon.
