The combination of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady was probably one of the deadliest head coach-quarterback duos the NFL has ever seen. Both Brady and Belichick are legends in their own right, but former NFL RB LeSean McCoy doesn’t seem to trust the popular idea.
McCoy heavily criticized the current New England Patriots head coach, who didn’t want to believe he was one of the best coaches in NFL history. One of the main arguments put forward by McCoy was the fact that all of Belichick’s success was due to having Tom Brady as quarterback for over two decades.
The Tom Brady-Bill Belichick duo won six Super Bowl titles at the time, establishing their status as one of the most successful men in sports history. However, since Brady left the Patriots in 2020, the Patriots have not been able to repeat their golden days and Belichick has barely made them into the playoffs.

LeSean McCoy doesn’t rate Bill Belichick as NFL’s best coach
“I I think he is a good coach.” McCoy said during her final appearance on the “Up & Adams Show” this week. The “biggest” and “we’ve never seen anyone like him” bullshit.”
When asked if Tom Brady would have been the actor he is today without Bill Belichick, LeSean McCoy immediately replied in the negative. The former RB turned to Patriots current quarterback Mac Jones, and McCoy felt the youngster was too far from where he should have been, and Belichick just couldn’t get the most out of him.
“Tom had Brady. If you take Tom Brady away from you, do you know what it is? under 500. I Can’t you see that I care so much for him? I don’t see him developing quarterback,” McCoy continued. “Offense, I don’t see the team, they don’t look the same to me.”
Despite all the criticism, the facts of the matter are that Bill Belichick is the second-highest-paid head coach in NFL history with 326 wins, after surpassing George Halas last week.
