Jerome Abram Bettis Sr. has made a name for himself in the NFL. The running-back former football player was active in the NFL for 13 seasons and certainly accomplished a lot during his tenure. Known colloquially as the “Bus,” it was first looked forward to by the Los Angeles Rams in the 1993 NFL Draft.
After three seasons with the Rams, Bettis was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he remained for almost a decade. A six-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro first-team, it’s fair to say that Jerome is one of the best power runners the game has ever seen.

‘I knew I’d come back one day’: Jerome Bettis returns to college after 27 years
Jerome decided to quit in 2006 after playing a big role in driving the Steelers to the Super Bowl championship. that surprises no one, Bettis he was eventually inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2015 for his great contribution to the big game.
However, even after achieving all that, Jerome still had some unfinished business to take care of this year. After graduating high school, he attended the University of Notre Dame but had to drop out to pursue a career in the NFL. Almost thirty years later, Jerome has decided to return to University to finish his last semester.
“I always told my kids that whatever you start, finish it. Today I started my final semester at the University of Notre Dame. When I left to go to the NFL 27 years ago, I knew I would come back one day.Bettis wrote on Twitter while sharing a video.
This is truly inspiring stuff from the great man. He has well and truly proven that there is no age limit for further education and we hope this move will inspire people all over the world.
