Jerry Jeudy is arguably the best route runner of any wide field in the draft class, but the talented WR has yet to reach his full potential. Jeudy recorded a disappointing zero touchdown with the Denver Broncos last season, averaging a dismal 20 points per game in season five due to the lack of a solid QB.
This was not what Jeudy had in mind when he was selected by the Broncos in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft. An Alabama player has scored 24 goals in his last two seasons at college, so he must have been really disappointed not to continue his professional career in the same way.

Things are now about to change for the wide field due to the arrival of star QB Russell Wilson. With the arrival of a solid Super Bowl-winning quarterback, no one benefits more than Jeudy.
“There are things you can and cannot control, those first two years are over now, so I just focused on this year.” jeudy said minicamp media conference. He had Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater as his QBs for the first two seasons of his career.
We’ve seen moments of Jeudy stepping up in the opening game of last season and showing us why he’s the best WR in the draft class. He had 72 yards in 6 catches, and with less than nine minutes to go in the third quarter against the Giants, he injured his ankle when tackled by James Bradberry.
Jeudy was stressed off the court and missed the next six games and lost momentum going into the season, being mismatched on the Broncos roster as the chemistry between him and his QBs was never really good.
With Wilson in attendance, the entire Broncos organization and fan base has become more optimistic than ever. Russ knows what Jeudy is capable of, and during the volunteer minicamp last month, many players saw Wilson and Jeudy’s chemistry spike instantly.
““When a guy like Jerry Jeudy was just around him, we had some great discussions and some great conversations, we put in some extra work.” said Russell Wilson.
“He can help me a lot, he’s a great quarterback, a Hall of Fame quarterback who comes in as a lead offensively heals me as well. He’s going to help me a lot this year… Just the energy. The Denver Broncos have not been the best place for expansions, having had a layup and four different offensive coordinators in the QB position over the past five seasons.
During that time, the Denver Broncos had only one talented WR, Courtland Sutton finished with 1,000 yards in 2019 and Tight End Noah Fant, now a Seahawk. They have led the team in terms of receptions in each of the last two years.
Last season, the team’s top three WRs were Sutton, Jeudy and Tim Patrick. They finished with 7 combined TDs, which is lower than Cooper Kupp’s record of 9 individual TDs.
At the end of the season, Denver Broncos GM George Paton, who signed contract extensions with Sutton and Patrick in November, was honest about the improvements that needed to be made all offensively. He was clear on the buyers saying, “We need to be better and do everything we can to get the most out of them, that’s what we all want, but there’s no doubt that they need to be better.”
Jeudy’s dry season last year wasn’t entirely in vain, due to extensive showers of his elite route running abilities that had left room for him to consistently run, he had some downfalls, but Jeudy occasionally got frustrated playing an offense that resulted in 13 goals. or fewer points in five of the team’s last eight games.
Wilson pushed through the team’s early fieldwork this year to record “games-changing games” last year.
“I call them space games, three or four games or maybe just one or two games that change the Game and its situational awareness. Where has the game been moved? Where has the game changed? This was a big part for me. What were the strengths and what could be the areas for improvement?”
This season, Denver Broncos excitement is at an all-time high, possibly the highest since the Peyton Manning era. Let’s see how the team will perform this season.
