We are hours away from NFL Draft 2022 in Las Vegas, draft night is special for athletes because their entire future depends on the outcome. As with any draft, the focus is always on the top 20 picks as they are the most excited and believe they have the most potential, but the best players end up being the most overlooked in every draft.
This year’s draft and lots of excuses, one of them being Will Adams, the Security Out of Virginia, unlike the rest of the draft class, he hails from a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). These institutions often do not have half the resources that Tier 1 colleges have. Teams don’t get the best players because the best prospects tend to overlook them and pick the big names in college football like LSU or OSU.
Security Will Adams has a message for all his critics
But all HBCU players have is more determination than the Division-I athletes they’re used to being underestimated. Will Adams surprised everyone in January with the HBCU combine that had all the scouts staring at him.
His versatility was unrivaled, with the ability to immediately assist an NFL team in the minor leagues. In addition, he can play in special teams and has the ability to examine game films well. Adams was not at the top of the interception list in any of his four seasons in Petersburg, Virginia. The offenses his team faced were heavy runs, but when they threw the ball, it was definitely not towards him.
The combine’s organizer, Jim Nagy, said:He (Will Adams) stole the show. He looked good in every practice and practice.
