“What every basketball coach at every level is looking for” Colin Cowherd believes a player like Stephen Curry is every coach’s desire

Sports TV Personality Colin Cowherd praises Stephen Curry and his performances in the 2022 NBA playoffs. But going beyond that, the former player looked at the Warriors main man as a player any coach would want on their team.

The Golden State Warriors demonstrated their dominance in the NBA Finals, especially in the last 3 games where they gave little chance to the Eastern Conference Champion Boston Celtics. For the Golden State Warriors, every member on the field contributed well to the team, but it was Stephen Curry who shined the brightest in the process and won the 1st Finals MVP Award. While Curry has been very consistent in his performances over the years, this was a growing chart for him and the 2022 playoff series was well above his previous seasons. Coach Kerr is pleased with the marquee player, expressing satisfaction with the team’s performance, and praising the sniper.

For sports analyst Colin Cowherd, the appreciation of FMVP and Kerr doesn’t justify his position as one of the all-time greats for “smart sports fans.” It puts Steph among the best of stars, if not at the pinnacle of NBA history. But he added that Steph is a player that every coach would want on a team.

The multi-talented and Deadly Stephen Curry will always go with any coach’s plan.

Many in the NBA community were talking about Steph’s Finals MVP award because it was lacking in his illustrious career and although he wasn’t won 3 championships before, has never been the “MVP” caliber. But Cowherd feels it’s wrong to assume this is the stamp of approval the All-Star guard needs.

Sports commentator on the show “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” announced, “Steph Curry’s MVP doesn’t justify anything for smart sports fans. Here is my confirmation. In the history of professional basketball in America, Mount Rushmore is undisputed to me. Michael (Jordan), Magic (Johnson), LeBron (James) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the greatest center of all time.”

Setting the bar so high, Colin added that he could be the second best player in the league, close enough to the megastars mentioned above. HE aforementioned, “But just down the road, maybe five or six miles, is Mt, Rush-A-Little-Less. It’s the second mountain range and (Bill) Russell, (Larry) Bird, Kobe (Bryant) and Steph and I don’t think that’s even remotely debatable. Steph Curry is what every basketball coach at every level is looking for.”

Inside 2022 NBA finals, Steph showed versatility in her performances. The 34-year-old star played well on both sides of the pitch, but his offense completely overshadowed his defensive play. He averaged 31.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals in the series. He shot 43.7% from beyond the arc and averaged 5 three points in the game (15 points). It opened up the game to new possibilities, ways to approach the game and of course influencing the opponent’s defense. After his stunning performance on the biggest stage, Steph was unanimously awarded the Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP Award.

His field vision, off-the-ball movement, ball handling and shooting ability make him a dangerous offensive weapon on the court, while his knowledge of the game, reading the opponent’s tactics and defensive ability put him aside as a defender – though he’s only 6’2” on the ground. Although not the best defender, he is a very good player and showed good reflexes while stealing the ball.

According to 54-year-old analyst Cowherd, his versatility makes him an ideal player for any team of any era. In his post-match interview, Coach Kerr said he should thank Steph for the 4 rings he won as a coach. Kerr also has a total of 9 rings as a player and coach.
