Adding to the mix was the former assistant head coach of the Sacramento Kings subsidiary. Akachi Okugo. The coach was said to have “strongly encouraged” multiple female employees of the organization to join him at a party held at the Las Vegas NBA Summer League last year. Sydney claimed that he bullied her during a party and took unwelcome steps against her.

“Okugo made many unwelcome moves against the Claimant and pressed her body against his as he asked her if she had a boyfriend. Stockton Kings Head Coach Bobby Jackson and Assistant Coach Jimmy Alapag witnessed Okugo harassing Plaintiff, but did nothing to resolve or stop it. In response to the allegations, the Sacramento Kings responded by saying, “Corruption accusations are false and will be dealt with through appropriate legal process.” Sydney claimed she had filed a complaint with the managing director at the time but was dismissed from her job before a solution could be found.

That would make an absolutely awful comment on Kings reputation, especially in this day and age. The team is in trouble, too, and after several failed attempts to rebuild their roster around De’Aaron Fox and former All-Star Domantas Sabonis, the team needs a lot more work and relocation to win more games.
