“I respect how he’s handled it this year,” said Stephen Curry of Russell Westbrook, who was harassed by fans.

Russell Westbrook has proven to be the most booed star of the NBA’s 2021-22 season. With the purple and gold army failing to live up to high expectations this season, Brodie has been the center of frequent name-calling and even personal threats. But this has caused other marquee stars in the league to stand up for their ‘brothers’, the latest Warriors star being Stephen Curry.

While Westbrook and the Lakers have largely struggled to find themselves anywhere near the playoffs, Stephen Curry suggests he’s extremely proud of the former MVP for how he’s been able to act amid massive fan harassment.

“Nothing Charles said about me bothered me…

“When we played with them in Los Angeles a few days ago, I told him I respect everything he said, how he handled himself and how he handled his family all year long.” Stephen Curry said Yahoo Sports.

“That’s the nature of the beast. And in a certain perspective, they build to bring you down. The facts who have done amazing things in this league know what that means. He’s a pro… I’m on his side.”

Now if we talk about the facts, there are only 17 games left in the regular season, the Los Angeles Lakers are nine games under .500 and Russell Westbrook is a big reason for that. He leads the league in turnovers (four per game) and shoots 28.2 percent from the 3-point range. The Lakers are struggling, too, as Anthony Davis and LeBron James missed 28 and 18 games, respectively. Despite struggling, Westbrook only missed one game during the season.

Given that purple and gold are facing some of the strongest teams in the league, Westbrook needs to find a way to find consistency with other players in his remaining games. Because whatever the case, it would only take a few games for the Lakers to show their strength. And if that’s the scenario at any point, LeBron, AD, Brodie, Melo, Monk, and other stars on the roster could very well shock the Lakers NBA world.
