The term insanity itself is a description of how big an event is and how people react to it each time. Organized by the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) for hardcore basketball fans, the tournament is so much more than just college basketball, it’s a series of balloons, braces, and bell-whistlers, all of which lead to endless excitement and excitement.
The term insanity perfectly caters to the hype that swirled around the tournament at its inception. The “Big Dance” is a huge event, garnering great enthusiasm from everyone, as several teams from all over the USA battle it out for a place in the tournament.
To give you a brief explanation of what the tournament format is, the NCAA college basketball tournament is a single elimination tournament featuring 68 teams competing for survival in three weekend games to crown national champions. The field was 64 teams, but the NCAA recently added four more teams playing “playing” games to earn a spot in the 64 final field.
With a fixed period of three weeks, only 16 teams (“Sweet Sixteen”) made it through the first weekend. The second weekend narrows the field down to the “Elite Eight” and then the “Final Four”. Finals weekend focuses on the four semi-finalists. The two semi-final winners continue to play in the national championship game.
