Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant have recently hardened assumptions, for the time being, both arguing that their regular seasons are too disconnected to even consider predicting a championship.
Still, the stars are selling themselves very cheaply, assuming Saturday’s laughter is any sign.
The Nets not only defeated the Heat, and Saturday night’s 110-95 humiliated and provoked the alleged Eastern Conference contender. Along with the earlier victory, lumbering Nets band Andre Drummond made a goodwill gesture to Tyler Herro, who followed up on a quick break before dunking.
“This is self explanatory” laughed Drummond. “I don’t know what made me do this. Maybe it’s because Tyreek Hill came here. [to Miami]. That’s what happens, I don’t know.”
“It was absolutely hilarious right now” Added Durant.
It was a Brooklyn (39-35) show played on Biscayne Blvd., and Irving (11 points, six assists) and Durant (23 points, five assists) sat down the entire last quarter. Irving’s house promotion on Sunday should be getting plenty of rest.
Kevin Duranty teased by Kyrie Irving for notorious ‘too little’ celebration during Nets practice
Both Durant and Irving are known for their incredible synergies on the court and are really good friends off the court as well. During the Nets party, Kyrie was seen trolling Durant with his notorious “very little” celebration, as Durant can be seen in the tweet below.
The late spring of 2019 was a season of player development like no other. As names like Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Anthony Davis progressed, Durant and Irving became an NBA controversy. The fact that they were both ‘scheduled’ to join the Knicks before they left for the Brooklyn Nets said a lot about how the Knicks were viewed with their marquee talent.
It’s been almost a long time since the two were combined and unfortunately it didn’t yield a lot of natural products. Their first encounter saw Kyrie Irving transferring isolated Nets healed with KD’s torn Achilles. The following season blocked James Harden and Kevin Durant lost to the Bucks in 7 innings at ECSF.
This season, the Nets have been offered a reprieve by the NYC Mayor, Eric Adams, the private boss of the state abolished the antibody order. In fact, even if Ben Simmons is recovering from a herniated disc, the readiness of KD and KAI will be enough to topple any team in the Eastern Conference.
