Shaquille O’Neal He’s back in the NBA headlines for once again supporting his best friend Charles Barkley for a very critical attitude towards Kevin Durant. Sir Charles recently shocked the entire basketball world by describing KD’s career outside of the Stephen Curry-led Golden State Warriors as a miserable failure. In return he even received a lot of criticism for this very disrespectful attitude. Because he has never won a championship or carried a team alone. But Shaquille O’Neal believes there’s nothing wrong with the shot, and that makes perfect sense.
Charles Barkley calls out Kevin Durant and comments on his career by giving him another Mr. Miserable tag: “He goes crazy when we say it, riding on the backs of the Warriors to win their first two titles, but if you look back at his career as a top player and a leader who went along with it, he was a misery. If he’s been a good actor, he hasn’t been successful. He just looks like an unhappy person. I call him Mr. Miserable, he’ll never be happy. Everyone gives him everything on a silver platter…”
This move got Chuck in trouble as he got a little too carried away with his words, with many against him. Even KD responded to him. But the fact that Shaquille O’Neal is a true player and a legend of the game who is also a Hall of Famer and is known as the most dominant force in league history has supported him. As Chuck knows his decision wasn’t entirely wrong, and it makes sense.
The seven-base sniper hasn’t seen any success or even a good and deep playoff outside of its time with the Golden State Warriors. So it’s only fair to cast such a shadow on him as there isn’t a Bus Driver other than Dub Nation. He tried his best to get out of the system at Brooklyn Nets, but failed. So it’s understandable and expected for Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley to be critical of himself and his career outside of Dubs.

Shaquille O’Neal recently showed his support for his best man, Charles Barkley, for his comments on Kevin Durant’s career outside of the Golden State Warriors. He quoted on “The Great Podcast with Shaq”: “Yes, [you can that he’s an abject failure.], if you go back and look at his career as a top player and as a leader and everything that comes with that. Look, we were there, we saw it. OKC lead 3-1. One more game, and once you’re a man, all the pressure is on you.”
More Shaquille O’Neal added: “Chuck was absolutely right when he was talking about the bus driver. At Golden State he wasn’t driving the bus, he was just sitting in the front. You won and we don’t respect that. Don’t be mad at us… man we’re talking about, can you take it to the next level in the championship moments? We haven’t seen that yet… if you’re the man and that’s it. If you haven’t finished, that means you’ve failed.” As always, Shaq ended it hilarious, stating that he didn’t even know what disgust meant, but he handled it perfectly.
Now is the time for Kevin Durant to prove that everyone is against him, but he is wrong on the right side. And for that to happen next season, it will need to lead the Brooklyn Nets to the championship, and it’s definitely doable. It’s back as the franchise after a crazy offseason month and it’s back with the Big Three of KD, Kyrie, and Ben Simmons. They’re a super team now with a good bench, so their chances of winning over the next season are great. And if KD can do it and add a self-earned ring to his résumé, Chuck and Shaquille O’Neal may be proven wrong, but right now they’re right to criticize him.
