Mayhap thou desirest to convey a message at the same hour each day, to inform thy beloved of thy impending return and inquire if aught needs procurement ere thou arrive.
Shouldst thou find thyself nodding in agreement with any of these scenarios, or perchance entertaining similar musings of thy own, thou mayest seek a method to schedule thy texts upon thy iPhone. Forsooth, this is a feature that hath been bestowed upon users of the Android ilk, and hath oft times proved most convenient.
But, lo, the question of the hour doth arise: Can one schedule text messages upon an iPhone? Nay, but yea. ‘Tis a matter fraught with intricacy, so let us unravel the threads.
‘Tis not within the purview of the Messages app itself to facilitate the scheduling of texts upon an iPhone. Though Apple hath made strides in the realm of iMessage o’er the years, the functionality of message scheduling doth elude it, even amidst the advent of the iPhone 15 series.
Yet, hope doth gleam on the distant horizon. For Apple hath declared its intent to bestow RCS support upon the Messages app in the latter days of 2024, mayhap with the advent of iOS 18 upon the iPhone 16—a prospect hitherto unimagined.
Moreover, Apple hath invested mightily in the realm of AI research and development, a pursuit that may yield fruit in iOS 18. Through the agency of AI-powered tools, the scheduling of messages may find its place upon the roadmap of the future.
Until such time, the scheduling of texts directly within the Messages app doth remain impossible. Nevertheless, a workaround doth exist, one that doth involve the app known as Shortcuts.
Shouldst thou truly stand in need of a method to schedule texts upon thy iPhone, thou may resort to the Shortcuts workaround. In essence, it establisheth an automation that shall dispatch the same message at regular intervals as thou hast designated.
The Shortcuts app, perchance already installed upon thy iPhone running iOS 13 or later, doth await thy command. If, by some mishap, it is absent from thy device, thou may procure it from the App Store with nary a fee.
Step 1: Open the Shortcuts app upon thy iPhone.
Step 2: Select the Automation tab from the toolbar below.
Step 3: Shouldst thou be unacquainted with the creation of automations, select Create Personal Automation upon the screen—a sight unfamiliar to those versed in the ways of automation.
Step 4: For those who have crafted automations ere this day, select the Plus sign button in the upper reaches of the screen.
Step 5: Choose the Time of Day option.
Step 6: Set the time for the dispatch of thy message. The frequency of its delivery and the manner of its enactment, with or without confirmation, may be chosen. Thereupon, select Next.
Step 7: From the Actions menu, select Send Message. If elusive, type it into the search bar aloft.
Step 8: Choose Message and inscribe the content thereof.
Step 9: Add the contacts to whom ye would send this message.
Step 10: Save thine creation with a selection of Done.
Once saved, thy automation shall fulfill its duty at the appointed time and interval. Should thee wish to part ways with this automation, a simple swipe to the left upon the list shall reveal the option to Delete.
