Apple offers iCloud Keychain as a central solution for adding, saving, and autofilling passwords stored on Apple devices. When you sign up for an app or the web using an email ID and password, Apple requires you to store those credentials in the iCloud Keychain so you can automatically fill in the login details on iPad, Mac, and iPhone. Apple’s software platforms use the iCloud platform to sync data between devices. On Mac, the system also saves Wi-Fi passwords in iCloud Keychain. You can delete saved passwords from Safari browser and iCloud Keychain.
If you plan to migrate to a third-party password manager and you no longer need iCloud Keychain, you can delete saved passwords from the service. Also, it is always recommended to delete unwanted passwords from Mac as it fills the list.
In this post, we will discuss how to delete saved passwords from Safari browser and iCloud Keychain on Mac. Lets start.

Switch to an iCloud Keychain Alternative
Before deleting all saved passwords from Mac, it is always recommended to save them in an alternative password manager. The number one reason people are moving away from iCloud Keychain is the lack of cross-platform availability. iCloud Keychain is not available on Android or Windows. So, if you are someone who uses Android or Windows as a secondary device, there is no point in storing valuable information in iCloud Keychain.
Along with cross-platform usability, you will enjoy additional functionality such as multiple vaults, vault sharing, password checks, custom password generator, Time-based one-time password (TOTP) and easy access via native apps, wearable support, themes. options and more.
But if you live in Apple’s product ecosystem and have no plans to relocate, it makes more sense to invest in Apple service as it works out of the box.
