The 32GB iPhone 7 is tempting, but many of you will be better off buying another version of the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus.
Last year, Apple took the stage and approved two new iPhone models to replace the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus as flagships.
iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have numerous upgrades including improved designs, cameras, processors, battery life and more.
Apple has also changed how it handles storage. The 16GB iPhone is finally gone and is replaced by the 32GB iPhone 7.
The 32GB iPhone 7 is the cheapest option and is accompanied by the 128GB iPhone 7 and the much larger 256GB iPhone 7.
The storage boost and cheap price make the 32GB versions of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus attractive options.
That said, there are several reasons to avoid Apple’s base model. Review these reasons when deciding which iPhone 7 model to buy.
If you can get a 128GB iPhone 7 or a 256GB iPhone 7, you should opt for one of them. Here is why.
32GB won’t be enough storage for many of you. Many applications require hundreds of megabytes of space. Individually, that doesn’t seem like much. Collectively, a ton. And apps are just the beginning of the potential nightmare.
Want to shoot loads of 4K videos? You better have a ton of space because they will fill up your tank quickly.
We had to constantly delete photos, videos, and other files to make room for new photos, videos, and other files on our aging 64GB iPhone models.
It’s not just 4K video either. Normal video will negatively impact your iPhone’s storage. So will the photos you’ll inevitably want to take with the iPhone 7’s great camera. If you’re into those, so are Live Photos. So will the selfies you take with the iPhone 7’s 7 MP front camera.
On top of that, a standard iPhone “configuration uses around 4GB to 6GB of space (including iOS and built-in apps) depending on model and settings.” So when you buy a 32GB iPhone 7, you’re actually buying a 28GB iPhone 7.
Paying extra for 128GB gives you quadruple the storage. But you’re also buying peace and freedom.
You can take photos and videos whenever you want. You can download apps, music and other files without feeling the pressure of your device’s threshold.
And unlike some Android phones, you can’t easily add storage to the iPhone 7 later. This advice seems even more accurate for users who plan to use the iPhone 7 for three years or more, as that means having more photos, videos, and apps on the phone.
Get peace of mind with 128GB of storage.
We’ve been using the 128GB iPhone 7 since September and we didn’t have to worry about internal storage or pay extra for iCloud storage.
The device currently has 50GB of free space. So we can shoot videos, record music locally, and download apps and games without much thought.
Friends and family have been asking us which iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. And without hesitation we tell them to get the 128GB iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus. They provide the most value and enough space for most users.
We don’t know how to use your iPhone 7, but we’re willing to bet that you’ll be able to use apps, take photos and videos, download music and other files.
We’re also willing to bet that 32GB of iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus storage will fill up much faster than you might think.
If you can afford the 128GB iPhone 7, pull the trigger. It will save you countless headaches and can ultimately save you some money. Additional iCloud storage does not come for free. If you don’t have enough storage, be prepared to spend money on the service every month.
