The Apple Watch 2 is said to arrive early next year. Here’s why you should wait for the Apple Watch 2 before you buy it.

The Apple Watch was launched in April earlier this year, and while it’s now well over six months old, it’s still considered a fairly new device, given that the first major software update for the smartwatch was just a few months ago.

However, it seems that Apple is already close to launching a new Apple Watch model as there are reports that the company will host an event in March where it will announce the iPhone 6c and Apple Watch 2.

The March launch of the Apple Watch 2 will be close to a year since the original Apple Watch launched, and this could point to the possibility of Apple introducing a new Apple Watch model each year, just like the iPhone and iPad.

If you haven’t bought an Apple Watch yet and are looking to get one soon, it might be best to wait for a new one to come out. Here’s why you should wait for the Apple Watch 2.

better performance

As with every new Apple product release, performance generally gets better with the new model, and it’ll likely be the same for the Apple Watch 2.

The Apple Watch isn’t entirely slow right now, but there’s a lot of improvement that can be made, especially for third-party app performance, which is pretty lacking. Many users, myself included, have a lot of trouble getting third-party apps to open quickly, even remotely.

Also, even some first-party apps can be slow at times, and Siri is a big mess on the hour, mostly dictating what I say in the microphone.

There’s no doubt that the Apple Watch 2 will outperform the current Apple Watch, so it’ll be interesting to see how it fares.

The Apple Watch already has a handful of great features, but the Apple Watch 2 could add more.

Rumors are clearly few when it comes to new features, but the possibilities are endless. The Apple Watch 2 may have its own camera or more health and fitness sensors that can monitor more than your heart rate.

In the past, Apple Watch was said to come with more sensors initially, but some have been dropped because they’re not quite working properly yet, so we’ll likely see them on the Apple Watch 2.

More Storage

The Apple Watch comes with 8GB of storage, which is enough to store a handful of photos and songs, but not too much, especially if you need to make room for apps.

We can easily see that Apple has added more storage to the Apple Watch 2, hopefully increasing the storage to at least 16GB, allowing users to store more songs and photos and maybe even videos this time around.

Currently, Apple Watch can store up to 2GB of music and 75MB of photos.

Better Battery Life

While Apple isn’t aiming to improve battery life for its products, the Apple Watch 2 may be one of the devices they’re starting to do so.

Most users can get a full day’s battery out of the Apple Watch, but that’s it before they need to plug it into the charger overnight. Apple said themselves that you can get about 18 hours of battery life from the watch, which is more than a full day.

However, if Apple really did improve the battery life on the Apple Watch and users can take advantage of it for a full day, that’s enough for Apple to call it good.

Bug fixes

First-generation devices and software tend to be pretty problematic, and the Apple Watch is no exception. Fortunately, Apple has released several updates for the Apple Watch to get rid of as many bugs as possible, but many users are still having problems.

As mentioned above, third-party apps are very slow and Siri needs a lot of work. Apple can fix these issues with more software updates, but the Apple Watch 2 can also help alleviate some of these issues, especially if it comes with faster components that can help with the slowness.
