Apple introduced watchOS 10, one of the most important updates for its connected watches, during its Worldwide Developer Conference. Widgets are back on the Apple Watch

While the first Apple Watch had a widget system called Glances, this system was removed in watchOS 3 as Apple focused on native apps. However, due to the separation of many companies, including Messenger and Meta, it was more time than ever to bring back Widgets.

With watchOS 10, Rotating the Digital Crown from the clock face introduces a new stack of Smart Widgetsprovides useful information such as a weather forecast or important data of the day. Based on your status, your watch will intelligently suggest new widgets such as upcoming calendar events, medication reminders, boarding passes, and more. Previously, pressing the Digital Crown on the side of the Apple Watch accessed the Home screen, a big change to the way you use your smartwatch.

In terms of health, Apple delivers A new feature in watchOS 10 called Time in DaylightIt uses the ambient light sensor to measure the time you spend outside.

Apple is also adding a new feature to the Mindfulness app that lets you track your emotions and daily mood, and even scroll through shapes by moving the Digital Crown to identify how you’re feeling. This mood information can then be tracked in the Health app in iOS 17 or iPadOS 17, along with other health data.

Cyclists not forgotten by Apple
