If you try to iCloud Restore from an old iPhone to a new iPhone and they are not on iOS 9.0.2, there is a dangerous iCloud issue that can corrupt your iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus.
After speaking with multiple users over the weekend who were warned about an iCloud issue, we met with two new iPhone buyers who were encountering issues trying to make an iCloud backup to their iPhone 6s.
There is a possibility that the iPhone 6s will go into a boot loop when you select an iCloud Restore during setup.
In such a case, you should go to Settings and try to factory reset your new iPhone before restarting it, or take the phone back to where you bought it to have it replaced.
I just got the iPhone 6s. It already has to return it to the store as it can’t upgrade/keeps restarting the upgrade. unreal.

This issue occurs occasionally, but that’s exactly why we recommend making an iTunes backup in addition to iCloud Backup.
We’ve been able to perform several iCloud restores on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus since release without any problems, but we’ve seen scattered reports of the issue.
We learned that one way to fix this issue is to upgrade both phones to iOS 9.0.2 before trying an iCloud backup.
If you plan to restore from an iCloud backup, be sure to upgrade to iOS 9.0.2 before purchasing a new iPhone 6s.
If you are planning to buy an iPhone 6s, you should upgrade your current iPhone to iOS 9.0.2 now. It’s not clear if you need to complete an iCloud backup in iOS 9.0.2, but it might be a good idea.
When your iPhone 6s arrives, you can set it up as a new iPhone and install the iOS 9.0.2 update. Currently, Apple does not ship iPhone 6s with iOS 9.0.2 out of the box.
After completing the setup as a new iPhone, go to This will install iOS 9.0.2 on your new iPhone in about 10 minutes.
Once this is complete, you can factory reset your new iPhone and choose to restore from iCloud backup in the setup guide. You can safely use this option on iOS 9.0.2 on both phones.
While purchasing an iPhone 6s for my wife over the weekend, I ran into two users waiting for an employee to come in and do a factory reset before the iPhone 6s rebooted.
While reports of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6 randomly rebooting on iOS 9.0.1 surfaced in early October, this issue does not appear to be linked to iCloud restore, which has put some phones in a boot loop.
